We started by delivering to beta test groupstoensure UK cultural relevance and comprehension, gaining a CPD accreditation for our flagshipprogram. We then increased the courses and capacity to deliver a full recovery coachingcurriculum, while always looking at ways to put recovery first. We removed financial barriers and obstacles for 18 people on 6 different courses, by providingmultiple full and partial scholarships. We have:Provided workshops and training to Leeds Recovery College – part of NHS trust.Delivered training to designated recipients of the Phoenix coaching trust charity.Worked with Kings Arms Project (homelessness charity) to train and implementRecovery Coaches.Delivered Advocacy training for FAVOR UK (charity). In September we delivered 30 days of free activities in partnership with FAVOR UK for RecoveryMonth, and co-produced the FAVOR UK recovery month conference, all delivered online due toCovid 19.This first year has allowed us to build a solid foundation for a sustainable and stable communityinterest company, with us being on track to deliver even more in 2022.
Building an engaged community is an essential part of our mission and most activities aredesigned with this key component.Recovery Coach Community CIC 4/7We send out regular emails outlining free activities, training and events to provide continuoussupport to our community. We created a monthly online meeting (Coffee and Connection) toengage directly with them and to enable collaboration. We also use various social media accounts and a website for engagement, plus we have a veryengaged Facebook group. We implemented and facilitated a trial of All Recovery Meetings (a weekly free mutual aid meetingfocusing on recovery, not addiction, where all are welcome) with great success and positivefeedback. From Autumn 2022, this will become a regular consistent free recovery support.Based on their feedback from the initial training participants we have expanded from one courseto a full curriculum of recovery coach training. We continue to look for ways to create partnerships and relationship building in the community sowe can put recovery first. The 3 directors met biannually online via Zoom in 2021 due to Covid 19.
