Company activities and impact

Caged Steel Communities CIC has coordinated and taken part in several community projects that have directly contributed to improvements in the physical health, mental wellbeing and essential life skills of children, young people, and the wider communities of Doncaster during this first year of operation. Some of these have been from vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds. The CIC has worked with: - Well Doncaster Programme - Doncaster Social Isolation Alliance - Doncaster Council’s Holiday Activity & Food Programmeto deliver Martial Arts programmes to help improve participant’s essential life skills, such as respect, dedication, attention, discipline, confidence and attitude. Experience has shown that if children and young people are taught these core values at an early age, their development through childhood into adulthood is greatly improved.

Consultation with stakeholders

During project and programme delivery, we seek regularly feedback from all our participants. We also consult with funders about their experience with Caged Steel Communities CIC. This is usually in the form of short questionnaires, a focus group or a written evaluation report. Consultation with stakeholders, including Doncaster Council, South Yorkshire Police and Public Health has resulted in the development of bespoke community programmes, such as the CIC’s self-defence programme for females. Caged Steel Communities CIC projects therefore provide additional health and public safety benefit whilst providing community impact, and social value.
