Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 31 December 2021 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

These accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

Company activities and impact

ASOP EU champions Article 85d of the FMD which legally obliges member states and DG Sante to publicise the meaning of the Common Logo and a falsified medicine. ASOP EU has worked closely with the NABP to further the subscriptions of online pharmacies to adopt the top level domain name Dotpharmacy. if the consumer knows of this website then they can be assured of legitimate and authentic medicines.The Digital Services Act (DSA) which will replace the E-Commerce Act is truly a significant event and ASOP EU are advocating strongly for more liability to be placed on internet intermediaries. Close affiliation with ASOP Global and contributing to the global initiatives which include a parallel pathway and communications to the VP at the White House and advocacy in the US Congress and close liaison with Homeland Security and the FDA. In Europe, ASOP EU became a strong member of the Know Your Business Customer and was one of 86 organisations to be part of this community advocating for a broadened scope of the DSA to include all intermediaries not just online marketplaces. ASU wrote letters to the commission, the council, Parliament as well as the President advocation for the KYBC principals.Advocating for an enhanced NIS2 legislation by working closely with the KYBC community.Being part of the EUIPO Observatory as a civil society member and speaking and championing the rights of patient safety in the various working groups. ASOP EU was part of an expert WG on domain names and a comprehensive report was issued on this subject to underline best practice in this area.As per the first paragraph, participating in endorsing the NABP pharmacy initiative and being part of the pharmacy registrant/supported advisory committee and championing the pharmacy initiative as a more robust solution than the common logo which has already been cut and pasted by criminals.ASOP EU became official observers of the Committee of Parties (CotP) Member of the ratified Medicrime Convention. ASOP EU are in the process of recommending the DOT pharmacy initiative to the CotP as well as running longitudinal market research by each ratified country.Production of a July 2021 newsletterMOU signed with EURid (Dot EU TLD) to cooperate and to help detect fake websites selling medicines illegally via support from NABPmany speaking arrangements including invitations to speak at a KO meeting on DNS abuse, and also to speak at OECD meetings.
