Isolation Busters 2021 and 2022 -These were a collection of art/creator events ran by self-employed neurodiverse people hosted in the village of Chopwell near Newcastle upon Tyne and over zoom. These benefitted the community as they were accessible for all, even those isolating and provided a social aspect for the villagers to attend at the classes. There was a lot of pride and sense of accomplishment for people being able to take home what they had made in that class as well as learning new skills. The sessions included willow weaving, embroidery, photography, leaf printing, leaf art, community sign map of the village, and origami. Social Group at Rowlands Gill Library. This benefits the community as it provides a safe space for individuals with disabilities to meet others and have social interactions. It helps combat their loneliness and gives the somewhere to talk and make friends. Quiet Garden - Built in a location courtesy of the local Methodist Church, public to all and located in the centre of houses in Chopwell. It has provided much needed scenery so is pleasing to the eye and is a space for residents to go and spend time.Documentary - Still in progress with the aim to be completed filming by end of 2022. Partnership with Unsubtle Skulls - Benefitting the community by allowing disabled artists a platform to sell their art through printing it on clothing and other items. (Still being set up at point of writing this.)
There has been new people added to the board as well as three people who have left. The ones who have left did so for personal reasons.
