The company runs weekly drumming sessions in the local hall. We have made links with local drum builders and workshop providers to bring cultural diversity to our area and give opportunities to our local community. The activities have benefited the community in the following ways:Local residents (particularly those who may not be very active and struggle to join in with physical exercise groups) have been given opportunities to get out and get active with our drum sessionsLocal residents who have been isolated and vulnerable due their health conditions and covid have been to our weekly groups and grown in confidence with social interactions. Participants have commented on the reduction of social isolation as they have made connections within the group. Symptoms of Parkinsons and Mental health conditions within the participants have reduced. They report wellbeing has improved due to participating in the group.Through our beach drumming events in the summer we encouraged activity and getting out in nature post covid this has been a highlight of our work this yearWe have made an impact on social inclusion through our inclusive drumming sessions..We are sharing our rhythm with the local community at events and encouraging interactions with culturally specific rhythms – teaching and respecting the origins appropriately.
