The Musketeers CIC is a community-based organisation committed to championing community focused projects linking local businesses to gain wider audience participation to charitable causes both locally and nationally. The Musketeers CIC is home to the #WeMakeICTPossible campaign which aims to tackle digital poverty across the Mansfield and Ashfield areas in a number of distinct projects.During this financial year and to respond to the findings from continued research, #WeMakeICTPossible has grown to have four key objectives across two phases:* Phase 1 - Provide ICT equipment to children and young people without this technology at home* Phase 2 -a) Develop digital hubs for families to access ICT resources & trainingb) Support children & young people with gaining ICT qualificationsc) Develop a steering group with digital & community partners to widen ICT provisionThe first and initial phase of the campaign has been heavily supported by local businesses and has enabled The Musketeers to donate ICT equipment to over 400 families in the local area.7 local businesses have taken the Musketeer Pledge as part of the steering group initiative.3 digital hubs have been developed within local primary and secondary school settings for ease of access to the wider community.The Musketeers partnered with a local computer club which provides ICT qualifications to secondary school students in a relaxed ICT club format. The Musketeers have donated computers to help the expansion of the delivery but also the ability to deliver a Maths qualification too. The partnership saw trials with emerging computer systems such as Raspberry PIs.The Musketeers completed 2 student-based project around the use of magic music gloves with primary and SEN school students.
