Community Engagement Activities in 2022
The Amazing Grace Christian Centre (TAGCC) is a local church placed right in the heart of South Leeds community. Our objective is to advance the Christian faith in accordance with the statement of Beliefs in such ways and in such parts of United Kingdom and in other nations globally and heeding to the scriptures in Matthew 28:18-20.
As it been observed, a good part of South Leeds consists of deprived areas such as Beeston, Holbeck, Haunslet, etc. Through the various projects and initiatives within TAGCC, there has been dynamic community involvement in the interest of families and individuals, men, women, and young people alike. There is dire need for improvement in residential housing, unemployment, youth activities to reduce idleness and crime, domestic abuse, prostitution, and homelessness in these areas.
It is in this light that ‘SOUTH BANK FOR SOUTH LEEDS’ has been welcomed by many. TAGCC is a member of Leeds Citizens who have been working tirelessly to see positive changes implemented in these areas. As members, TAGCC is much privileged to work in collaboration with all other member organizations within Leeds Citizens, faith groups, Leeds City Council, Councillors, Yorkshire Police, Hamara Centre, Bahar Women’s Association, Leeds Asylum Seekers Support Network (LASSN) to name but a few.
Our church operations in year 2022 increased as the restriction imposed during Covid-19 has been relaxed. The church continued to observe the government guidelines concerning face to face church services, prayer meetings and all other activities through the use of technology such as Zoom conference tools, Facebook, Youtube etc. to reach its congregations.
The Covid-19 rules were reviewed in 2022 which allowed churches to re-open upon following to safeguard rules on social distancing and seating arrangements etc. The chuch resumed weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-yearly and yearly meetings during the year 2022 and it should be noted that all government guidelines on church meetings were observed :

Sunday School: 10:30am -11:15am
Praise & Worship: 11:15am
Service/Sermon 11:30am -12:30pm

- Congregational prayer and fasting: Wednesday 6am-6pm.
- Pastors and leaders prayer and fasting: Thursday 6am-6pm and concluded with intercessory

- Women Prayer Congress (WPC). In year 2022, WPC continued the daily prayer 9:30pm-10pm
and gradually to every Wednesday 10:pm – 11pm interceding for nations, the church, families etc.
Women Prayer Congress (WPC) On-line prayers for women from nations all over the world come together online. This is a time dedicated to prayer of intercession for nations, Church- the body of Christ, Families, children, and any pressing issues in the world. Through such prayer intercessions women have experienced all manner of healing and found their place and calling bringing forth the birthing of ministries that otherwise the enemy had hindered and sabotaged. We thank God for the obedience to God’s voice of the founder and initiator of WPC Revd Dr Eunice Ransome-Kuti.
- My Space
This a ministry that offers advice, mentorship & therapeutic counselling to individuals or family units that are in need. The counselling and support provided is founded in the word of God. Referrals are also in place according to various needs. People are supported in identifying and addressing their situations and by the grace of God they are set on their journey to healing and restoration so as to achieve their purposes as God intended for them. Roman 15:14: 1 Thessalonians 5:14: Isaiah 35:3.
The monthly meetings take place mostly to review the progress of the individuals within the various services and support they are receiving and to identify new resources available for work progression. My Space is one of the 21 Ministry @TAGCC and it is up and running.
- Destiny
A compassionate ministry working with families or individuals who currently are undergoing domestic abuse as well as those who have been in abusive situation in the past but are still traumatised. We also work with women and girls who are in prostitution, largely through no fault of their own but are driven by circumstances beyond their control. As we work with these individual/families we share the love of God and are supported according to their various needs. The weekly or monthly meetings are held mostly to review the progress of the individual and the work done with the stakeholders and partnering organisations. Jesus came to set the captives free. Isaiah 35:3 ‘Destiny’ is in the heart of our Heavenly Father to see the oppressed set free and the feeble strengthened. Every person is a treasure in the eyes God. Isaiah 35:3.
Those in prostitution are supported in various ways available even offering them hot drinks especially in winter. Sharing the love of God and for them knowing they are still special, valued and treasured by their creator, their lives slowly begin to turn around as they gain their self-esteem and confidence is raised. Some regain their dignity, get life skills, as their God given gift are awakened and divine destinies restored. We believe that all things are possible with God.
Project leaders meeting held in second week of the month for review of services. Identify individuals in need of referrals and their progress. This may also include meeting with stakeholders, various service providers. Destiny is one of the 21 ministries @TAGCC and it is up and running.
- Hour of victory
This is held on the last Friday of every Month 7:00pm-10:00pm. A time of thanksgiving for all God has done thorough out the month. Declaration time. Job 22:28 Thou shall also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee.
- Thanksgiving Sunday
Every first Sunday of the month. Thanking God and sharing of testimonies (by members) of the faithfulness of God in answered prayers (Revelation 12:11).
- Men of Honour
We are men of honour. A group focused on bringing men together and helping them reclaim their divine mandate, which was lost in Eden. God always seek for a man anytime he wants to execute his purpose on earth. Adam the first man was created with God’s mandate. The 12-apostles was recruited first to run with the message of the kingdom. These are pointer passages in the scripture for every male to understand that his role either as a father or man is to receive divine attention in doing Kingdom service. We meet every first Saturday of the month by 12-2pm at mission office and during the Covid-19 period via Zoom.
- Women of Power
All Christian ladies need time to get-together with many other Christian ladies just to have a very good enjoyable time of fellowship. This group help to unite amongst church members, inter-churches. It helps to grow churches, train the young, honour the old and build the society. The church benefit when women united together.
- Defragmentation of Jesus Centred
Our goal is to gather people from all Tribes, Nation and Colour into one body of Jesus Christ to make an impact in the world. Defragmentation aims to provide an inclusive outreaching community cohesion where young people can develop Physically, Mentally, Emotionally, Spiritually through expression and relationship. A place where they feel they can cultivate a sense of purpose, direction, belonging and value. Platform to prepare young people to fulfil divine destiny.
- School of Ministry for Pastors and leaders
This is a quarterly for effective leadership training and is important for the work of the ministry. The aim is to offer biblical leadership teachings to equip and empower current and future aspiring leaders for effective leadership whereby servant leadership is applied following in the footsteps of Christ Jesus. It is imperative that leaders have or cultivate good characteristic traits so that they are able to lead by examples as epistles of Christ Jesus. In accordance to various God given assignment and calling the five-fold gifting is accomplished in the body of Christ in perfecting of the saints for the work of ministry Ephesians 4:12.
- Workers training
Competence in our workers whether paid or volunteers is of high regard. Therefore, relevant training is offered to make sure they comply with the standard required by law and also assure that they adhere to all policies.
- Children Sunday School teachers' training classes
Training classes are offered to Sunday School teachers are offered every three months to equip and empower. The training is also based on biblical teachings as well as information on legislation and safeguarding policies in compliance with the law.
- Total Family
This project is led by professionals who have years of hands-on experience in Health & Social Service sector. They are specialised in the area of families and children in distress. As it is, the need for these services has escalated due to the COVID-19 and it is estimated to go higher even in the Post COVID-19. Looking into poor housing and lack of employment especially for the young people, education, etc. are just a few of the challenging issues that are collectively and largely affecting families. The impact is huge as it includes problems like depression, substance misuse, mental health, homelessness, prostitution, suicidal thought that could sometimes lead to death. TOTAL FAMILY is working with relevant organization to deal with these challenged families in our communities. We share the love of Jesus Christ and we witness people’s lives changed for better as families are restored and more destinies are realised.
Twice a year meetings:
- Praise in the City
Praise and worship festival consisting of various gospel artist and choir groups held in the city to worship the King of Kings. This encourages a lot of youth especially whose calling is in worship ministry as it also gives them a platform to network and exercise their gift in the kingdom service.
- Jesus in City Crusade
This is a powerful event where all local churches come together to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Such events capture a lot of people who might otherwise be non-believers or unchurched believers in the communities. This is another way of open evangelising that has seen many souls give their life to Jesus.
- Leaders camping/retreat
Leaders have breakaway time when they go to a secluded place for a corporate prayer and fasting. This promotes the bonding amongst the leaders outside of their familiar surroundings. It is also a time of refuelling and listening to the voice of God. Jesus removed Himself from the disciples to go and talk to His Father.
Yearly meetings:
- TAGCC Anniversary
This important event is held every December in thanksgiving and to celebrate the Vision, Mission and Commission. It is a time to reflect the blessings of God and to testify the goodness and grace of God and to have a forecast for the year ahead.
- Pastors and Leaders' Convention
Pastors and leaders in TAGCC attend yearly conventions for the purpose of teaching, equipping and empowering them for their various assignments for the kingdom. They meet and connect with likeminded men and women who are also in the service of the Kingdom of God. Deep calleth unto deep as iron sharpen iron. Psalm 42:7; Proverbs 27:17
Despite the challenges that were associated with COVID 19 and the lockdown, God has enabled by His grace the leadership team to keep in touch with all TAGCC family members through sending encouraging messages and telephone calls as well as providing emotional, spiritual, and material support where needed.
