My Eco Baby CIC is far more than just retail premises. The stock comes from donations of baby and childrens clothes, toys and equipment. These are cleaned and repaired before being displayed for sale in the shop or passed to other organisations to be distributed to those in need. In addition My Eco Baby accepts donations of nappies, baby formula, sanitary products etc that are passed to customers in need and out to community initiatives.Everything for sale within the shop seeks to be affordable. Struggling families, those fleeing domestic violence and others suffering trauma are given free items within the store or these are sent out as emergency packs. It provides children’s and adult books free of charge to customers. Also a comfortable space for children to read and play with their Carers. The shop runs free activities for families such as arts and crafts, treasure hunts, soft play, dress up, storytime and disco’s.A community food pantry is available within the shop. A non judgemental approach is given enabling those who are in need of food basics to help themselves to necessities. Alongside this there is a space for those who are struggling to help themselves to nappies, baby food, toiletries and sanitary products. My Eco Baby shop has also acted as a collection point for Renewi's cloth nappy scheme. It provides a safe environment for chest feeding and a free baby weighing space. It also seeks to signpost families to other organisations and services that will support them. The CIC also provides a safe environment for families to shop for their ‘Reborn Babies’. These families use the babies as therapy dolls and often do not feel safe shopping in town centres. A safe environment is also provided for people to remember their loved ones on National Baby Loss week.
