Through conversations on our original podcast we produced 10 episodes where we asked guests to talk about how they work with their dyslexia, ways it presents a challenge and ways it benefits their practice. The guests offered practical advice, tips and tricks that they have found to manage their dyslexia while working in the arts. The core team on this project was 70% dyslexic but all had a close relationship to someone with dyslexia and therefore understood the premise of our work. Free resources for the community and developed our website along with our company which involved new partnerships. We filmed and released a short dance film on the topic of dyslexia which reached over 30,000 people via the Royal Opera House’s social media and other collaborative partners such as the British Dyslexia Association. We offered consultation to dance organisation around inclusivity in the dance sector
Our podcast listeners often email us with their requests for various offerings such as workshops they can join. With support from Lindbury trust and Rambert School we have been able to action these online and in person. Our community has connected with us online and we have exhibited films and delivered talks to global audiences. We have also had feedback from our live/online events and talks using online feedback forms. Our voluntary Board of Advisors (Steve Chapman, Kuo Liang, Ashley Woodfield, Maragaret Andreos, Pennie Aston) meet 4 x a year and offer their professional opinions on how best we can utilise services to reach our community and offer high quality services for our dyslexic community.Steve Chapman is our chair and we meet around 10 times a year to plan our board meetings. He also provides feedback to us from himself and our board of advisors to become more effective. Our social media manage, advised and supported us on how to manage our online community through our various digital platforms. We offer support and resources to our community free of charge. We have worked with podcast producers Chris Bristow on our podcast series 2 and he shared insights into data collection and ways we can improve our services to make the services user friendly for our neurodivergent community in response to our listeners feedback.
