We run a community boxing club on a small estate. We accommodate the kids of the estate allowing them to train for a minimal fee and have somewhere to go so they are not just hanging around at the shops or park. We teach the kids the benefits of exercise and show them that they have other options in life even though they are growing up on an estate. many of our kids rely on public transport so wouldn't be able to train elsewhere and they isn't many affordable clubs locally for them to go to. Our company has managed to get 50 kids to continually turn up every week choosing to better their health and stop hanging around the shops. The kids of this estate need to have role models that have come from this estate and haven't been pressured into joining a gang, they need to see that there is other options in life and you can change your life, we belief that this boxing club shows these kids that anything is possible and if they need help we are there to help them not just when we are running sessions but also un the community. we also partake in community fun days and litter picking days to help build a sense of community spirit.
