Matipo Arts is a multi arts company working mainly in theatre and community arts. The company produces original theatre productions and delivers creative workshops to schools, families and young people with most work taking place in and around Harlow, Essex. It is the aim of Matipo Arts to provide free and inexpensive creative experiences to stakeholders so that personal financial circumstances need not be a barrier to engaging with arts and creativity. Over the year 2022-23, Matipo Arts have engaged with a broad range of young people and families from almost every area of Harlow. The company's activities have been well received and we have gathered relevant data but it is difficult to quantify the true impact of company activities after only 2 year of trading. This is an area we are currently examining for reporting on the year 2023-24.
Matipo Arts directors have built up a relationship with local families, creative partners and local authority contacts over the past 3 years. They hold regular informal conversations with these stakeholders around different areas of service. Matipo Arts also asks all workshop participants and audience members to complete either feedback forms or post-it notes at every Matipo Arts event. In addition, Matipo Arts has conducted some community based research with interviews and collective making and writing activities over the past 2 year. This is in order to better understand Harlow and its residents, as they are the company's key stakeholders at this time.
All remuneration of directors has been in the form of freelance fees based on hours worked delivering company projects. This totals £4884.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
