Company activities and impact

MHaPP’s work includes addressing health and poverty inequalities, focus on Women & Girl’s well-being by providing culturally specific services through community gathering, social justice and equity, community wealth, land and food justice through different spaces in the partnership. We do this through representation & advocacy, training & raising awareness, consultancy, well-being & mental health services, student placements, Food banks, refuge for women & girls, counselling & economic justice.During the course of the financial year, MHaPP collective Partner Organisations participated in governance work and contributed to strategic deliberations concerning MHaPP including representation on other strategic bodies. We held over 20 bi-monthly workshops exploring different aspects of strategic themes aimed at strengthening our Governance and improve service delivery to our clients2 Community Events: We were able to organise two successful events during the course of this project timeline i.e., International Women’s Day and Black History event. For each event, we had over 200 people in attendance35 Wellbeing Events: We have been commissioned by NHS to provide Mental health support services to black women, and we successfully launched the USTAWI project in different spaces specialising in mental health support services. Over 100 women have benefited from the education sessions on Mental Health awareness. 70 women were supported on a one-to-one basis through our culturally appropriate trauma informed therapeutic services for Black Women who do not have access to psychotherapy and psychodynamic group therapy.

Consultation with stakeholders

MHaPP key stakeholders are the Black African women who are the leaders of the collective Partner Organisations, the women they support, the funders who give the grants and statutory bodies including (NHS) who commissioned our work. We have continuously consulted with our key partners in course of our work to ensure that we are delivering appropriate services including culturally appropriate services. This year, MHaPP has got a case management system where all organisations capture data between them to be able to support a woman holistically through the different issues they may have. The case management allows women to take part in recording the way they arrive for support, monitor progress through training and participation and eventually when they are ready to move on or not need MHaPP support any more.Women can log on their own accounts and store and download progress. MHaPP also has open dialogue and consultative meetings with its women. The partner organisations have been holding at least 2 meetings a month, both in person and online. These meetings are spaces where learning, good practice and future strategic work is planned. We also continuously monitor and evaluate our services using external partners in order to get independent assessment and input to help improve and shape our service delivery. All this has been part of the work process undertaken during this reporting year.
