The company has taken in grant funding from several sources, used these funds to build and equip a recording studio, and then used this space to provide free tuition to groups of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in music and music production. The impact on the community is felt both in the immediate benefit to the students' skills and mental well-being from the classes and, moreover, in the wider impact following their improved skills; creative collaboration with others; sharing of artistic ideas; prevention of other potentially anti-social activities by instead making music.
The company's stakeholders are the young people who will participate in the programme; their immediate families and the wider community including their schools; Tuneful Tutors staff who will run the tuition in the programme; our funders and I partner organisations. The students are being consulted via their schools and music teachers, so as to tailor the programme to suit them and ensure the best benefit to their mental wellbeing. We have consulted with several partner organisations including other studios who do charity work as well as the local church St.Peter's Church, to best structure Tuneful Tutors programme for the students and the studio space. Finally, our funders have been consulted as to how we have spent funding on the conversion for the masterclass programme that ran this year.
