Beacon Services Resources help parents, carers and teachers and therapists to offer early preventative support around children’s mental health. The company publishes resources and offers accompanying training to help children build relationships through play so they experience much needed connection. The resources remove many of the barriers to therapy through user centric design to be a transformative early intervention and preventive resource for mental health in the UK and beyond. During our second year our activities to support this have included:- Maintaining sales of our Cards to Help You Connect Resources raising funds to continue to make them available and raise funds through their sales for charity Adoption UK. These cards provide families with immediate access to our play activities as and when needed. - Providing 200 packs of funded cards to families who would otherwise not have been able to access our resources through our funding partners, including translating the resources into standard Arabic. - Continuing to provide training supporting the use of our resources for a range of professionals including teachers, foster carers, nursery staff and social workers widening engagement with our resources so that they can benefit children and their families. - Launching a digital version of our resources to ensure even greater accessibility.
The stakeholders at Beacon Services Resources are:-The children and families using our resources - The professionals who attend our training or use the resources - The commissioners of our training - Local Authorities, schools and Adoption Agencies- The funders of our service – the West Midlands Combined Authority and Innovate UK- Beacon Family Services who provide a referral network for resources and training. We seek feedback from families and professionals using our resources and engaging with training. In the development of all our resources we use focus groups including existing and new users so that families and children’s feedback shape and develop our resources.
