We keep it simple, friendly, and open to anyone who fancies dropping in at any point in the evening and there is no requirement to sign up or commit in advance (we confirm identify via the waiting function in zoom). We also ran 3 face-to-face cafe style events in Sept, Nov and Dec 2022. Two of those events were regular cafe nights on a Friday evening and one was on a Saturday and included music (Phil Spalding) and comedy (The Comedy School). The Henley Recovery Cafe is for anyone in recovery from addiction or for someone supporting a friend and/or family member. We have an inclusive open house format where people can be themselves and get support and encouragement from others in recovery. In 2022-23 we also:Launched an audio book on Spotify (early 2022)Featured in “roof top news” (the real voices series, Sept 2022)Applied for and received lottery funding, (Oct 2022)Published a book of poems (My Way Though) for one of our cafe membersCelebrated our 10-year anniversary (Dec 2022) Wrote and published a Lent Blog Series on addiction recovery (Feb 2023) – 40 daily blogs (which we hope to make into a short recovery manual in the future)Launched the 1% challenge, (Mar - Apr 2023) inviting people to make small changes that can lead to a big impact.
