The members have not required the company to obtain an audit of its financial statements for the year ended 31 January 2023 in accordance with Section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for:
(a)ensuring that the company keeps accounting records which comply with Sections 386 and 387 of the Companies Act 2006 and
(b)preparing financial statements which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the company as at the end of each financial year and of its profit or loss for each financial year in accordance with the requirements of Sections 394 and 395 and which otherwise comply with the requirements of the Companies Act 2006 relating to financial statements, so far as applicable to the company.

The financial statements have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

All the members have consented to the preparation of an abridged Balance Sheet for the year ended 31 January 2023 in accordance with Section 444(2A) of the Companies Act 2006.

In accordance with Section 444 of the Companies Act 2006, the Income Statement has not been delivered.

1. STATUTORY INFORMATION

The Marsden Height Land Company Limited is a private company, limited by shares , registered in England and Wales. The company's registered number and registered office address can be found on the Company Information page.

2. ACCOUNTING POLICIES

Basis of preparing the financial statements
These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with Financial Reporting Standard 102 "The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" including the provisions of Section 1A "Small Entities" and the Companies Act 2006. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention.

Turnover
Turnover represents total rent receivable.

Tangible fixed assets
The Directors consider that it is not possible to revalue accurately the club house and the golf course as there are no comparable market values to use.
This is a breach of Financial Reporting Standard 102.
Nevertheless the Directors are of the opinion that the market value of the properties is considerably in excess of book value.

6. CONTINGENT LIABILITIES

The company has executed a Legal Mortgage under which a loan, limited to £80,000 plus interest, to the Nelson Golf Club by the National Westminster Bank plc is secured on the company's land and buildings, which consist of the golf course and original club house.

7. RELATED PARTY DISCLOSURES

Nelson Golf Club holds 1,566 shares which represent 99.18% of the issued share capital. The company lets its land and buildings to the Club and the rent charged for the year was £1,000 (2022 £1,000).

The Golf Club also purchased a plot of land from the company at an open market valuation of £15,000, financed by a loan from the company to the Club, which is secured by a legal charge on the land.
