  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Financial Reporting Standard 101

    Turnover policy

    The CIC only operates to facilitate grant funded projects. As such the income from these projects is only included in the accounting turnover when the expenditure has been incurred.

    Other accounting policies

    All income received is from grants towards the delivery of specific projects and the income is only recognised once the project spend has taken place. Therefore the CIC has a policy of generating zero accounting profit at year end.

Company activities and impact

In 2022- Jan 2023 We delivered our True Colours project which supported over 300 young people with access to performance and art based activities in schools and youth groups.Through a series of workshops we then created original theatre and subsidiary projects to develop socialisation, understanding and empathy/emotional awareness.As well as this we continued to provide events within the community focused around LGBTQ+ integration and provided the wider communities with access to performance and art engagement.We are committed and continue to support Portsmouth with their ongoing development of cultural capital in the city.

Consultation with stakeholders

We have established a community board which represents a slice of the community to help understand how best we can devise projects that serve our community in a meaningful way,This has taken effect in our 23-24 programme of events and projects and will have significant impact on the work we do in this accounting year. As well as this we continue to use workshops, events and markets as a way of continued consultation with our communities.
