Yesblood uk created by Kyra Campbell and her mother Jacqueline Campbell, to create and spread awareness within the BAME and wider communities about Sickle Cell Disease & disabilities. The impact it has within these communities, educating individuals, running workshops on how to deal with disabilities within the workplace - teaching individuals and employers the correct terminology to use to when faced with someone with a disability - raising awareness about sickle cell and how it affects people on a daily basis , all whilst encouraging fundraising for a cure of the disease. Since becoming a company we have held 1 workshop so far this past summer which was a complete success. We had a fantastic turnout for the workshop which was attended by individuals with disabilities who were learning about the support they can get in career industries and also some employers who were eager to learn how best to support their employees other disabilities. We have also been trying to increase our online presence in aid of reaching more people to spread awareness. We have been able to use our online platforms to share information about sickle-cell , including facts , myths and latest news on cures and treatments. Kyra Campbell has also shared her own personal journey with the disease via her platforms to motivate , offer support to others and share educational awareness. We have much plans for the near future including fundraising , collaborative projects, media events and setting up support services for communities and the general public to have readily accessible information about sickle cell disease and it’s affects.
