Insight Community Project deliver youth and community projects and events that aim to improve physical and mental health, bring together the community, and provide safe and positive environments. We run a weekly youth club, holiday clubs and activities, and targeted sports sessions. Our activities and clubs are all free of charge to young people, our aim is to reach those families who are harder to reach or who would not be able to attend extra curricular activities due to cost.
Insight consults with young people on a regular basis. We carry out informal consultations at our Long Eaton youth club in the form of chats, pod casts and boards to write ideas down. We have also carried out a 10 week consultation session in Sandiacre to explore young peoples feelings about where they live, their lifestyles and what they would like to see in the form of youth provision in their area. This consultation identified that young people would like a football session and youth club. We are now working together with the community network to deliver this. We attend various community network meetings where we engage with other community organisations, local council members, school members and local businesses to explore the needs in different areas and identify how we can work together to meet these needs. We also consult with parents and ask for feedback from our projects to enable us to continue providing activities and sessions that are needed and wanted in our area.
