Basis of preparing the financial statements |
Going concern |
On 31 March 2020, the company ceased trading and the directors have no plans to recommence in the near future. The company was not trading throughout the current year and therefore the accounts have been prepared on a basis other than that of the going concern basis. This basis includes, where applicable, writing the company’s assets down to net realisable value and writing off group creditors that are not recoverable. |
Financial instruments |
The company has chosen to adopt the FRS 102A in respect of financial instruments. |
Basic financial assets, including trade and other debtors and cash and bank balances are initially recognised at transaction price, unless the arrangement constitute a financing transaction, where the transaction is measured at the present value of the future receipts discounted at a market rate of interest. |
At the end of each reporting period, financial assets measured at amortised cost are assessed for objective evidence of impairment. If an asset is impaired, the impairment loss is the difference between the carrying amount and the present value of the estimated cash flows discounted at the asset's original effective interest rate. The impairment loss is recognised in the income statement. |
Debt instruments are subsequently carried at amortised cost, using the effective interest rate method. |
Trade creditors are obligations to pay for goods or services that have been acquired in the ordinary course of business from suppliers. Accounts payable are classified as current liabilities if payment is due within one year or less. If not, they are presented as non-current liabilities. Trade creditors are recognised initially at transaction price and subsequently measured at amortised cost using the effective interest method. |
Pension costs and other post-retirement benefits |
The company makes pension contributions to individuals' personal pension plans. These contributions are charged to the profit and loss account in the year in which they are incurred. |
Debtors |
Short term debtors are measured at transaction price. |
Creditors |
Short term trade creditors are measured at the transaction price. |
Leased assets and obligations |
All leases are "operational leases" and the annual rentals are charged to the profit and loss account on a straight line basis over the lease term. |
The aggregate benefit of lease incentives are recognised as a reduction to the expense recognised over the lease term on a straight line basis. |
Short-term employee benefits |
Short-term employment benefits are recognised as an expense in the period in which they are incurred. |
