The Company has delivered surf and swim sessions through three projects to our local community.-Polzeath Ladies Surf Club-The Gentlemans Surf Club-Fluro Saturdays Mental Wellbeing Surfs*Community building - meeting new people and making new friends*Combatting rural isolation*Year round weekly surf and swim sessions facilitating regular exercise in nature leading to improved fitness and confidence*Improved mental health*More confident through learning new skills and facing fears with support in the water.
The company's stakeholders are adult surfers or those wanting to learn to surf in the local community in Cornwall. The directors have lived locally and seen a surf school industry and offering largely focused on tourism and visitors marketed as an activity for children. This led to missing representation and point of access to surfing and the ocean, noticeably amongst adult women. We asked all new attendees to complete a questionnaire to establis the needs, hopes and any fears from those signing up to surf.We establish a volunteer committee to help with communicationand organising events.
No remuneration was received
