Company activities and impact

The company’s activities in this financial year have included maintaining a “meals on wheels” service to the local community, supplying cooked food for private events, selling meals on special market days in the Chesterfield Market. We have also supplied cooked food for our luncheon clubs, cookery classes and seminars in conjunction with the NHS and Chesterfield/Derbyshire Councils, Derbyshire Police and Derbyshire Voluntary Action. The benefit to the community can be seen in an increased level of contact with vulnerable groups, important information passed on to otherwise isolated cultural groups, a wider understanding of cultural issues to a broad audience from the local community. Our supply of wholesome food to disadvantaged members of out local community gives a much-needed nutritional meal in these times of financial hardship. Internally, we have been able to maintain and expand job opportunities, including English lessons to several new arrivals in the UK.All the money earned from private functions and market days is reinvested in the company to improve and expand our range of services to the local community. Directors of the Company take no remuneration of any kind and so earnings are maximised.
