Th3 Sun CIC continued to provide emergency housing for vulnerable women in and around the Stroud Gloucestershire area. 23 women were housed in the year, an increase of 30% from the previous year with an occupancy rate of 93%. Th3 Sun CIC successfully applied for an HMO licence to increase bedspaces thereby increasing its capacity to meet the increasing emergency housing demand and to cater for the need in neighbouring councils. Th3 Sun CIC was invited to a wedding of a past resident. This showed just how the little bit of stability provided by Th3 Sun CIC during a woman’s stay in the house, along with the support they receive from other agencies has led to a stable relationship resulting in a long term commitment. By inviting Th3 Sun CIC to this momentous occasion, the woman showed her gratitude as well as the importance she places on Th3 Sun CIC’s involvement in her life. Th3 Sun CIC successfully applied for a grant from the Barnwood Trust, to employ a staff member to oversee its housing work. This is shown as a deferred grant in the accounts; it will be used in the following financial year.
Th3 Sun CIC continues to hold regular meetings with its residents to gather valuable feedback which is used to continue improving its services. The Sun CIC has maintained its relationship with Stroud District Council who remain the main referrer to the only women only emergency accommodation in the District. Cheltenham Borough Homes also started referring women to Th3 Sun CIC this year. Other agencies such as the Foodbank, Foodiverse and The Long Table continue supporting Th3 Sun CIC’s work in a number of ways. Those housed by Th3 Sun CIC also receive support from other agencies such as P3 (community based housing related support), CGL (drug and alcohol service for adults), the Nelson Trust (rehabilitation treatment women’s service) and the mental health team. Th3 Sun CIC looks forward to working with the Barnwood Trust in making Gloucestershire the best possible place for disabled people and people with mental health conditions.
Lynn Chisadza was paid for leading, developing and managing the Company as detailed in the accounts.
