  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable for goods supplied, net of discounts and Value Added Tax. Revenue from the sale of goods is recognised when significant risks and rewards of ownership have been transferred to the buyer, usually on despatch of goods; the amount of revenue can be measured reliably; it is probable that the associated economic benefits will flow to the entity; and the costs incurred or to be incurred in respect oof the transactions can be measured reliably.

    Other accounting policies

    CURRENT TAXCurrent tax is recognised on taxable surplus for the current and past periods. Current tax is measuredat the amounts of tax expected to pay or recover using the tax rates and laws that have been enacted orsubstantively enacted at the reporting date.

Company activities and impact

The main aim of Happy Signs CIC is to support positive Mental Health within its local community and provide people with the ability to manage their own emotional well being and live a happy life.We have two main strands, which specifically target parents, families and older people.Our purpose is to provide benefit to families in need of emotional support, to include families with adopted children, foster carers and children with additional needs. Also to lessen the isolation that elderly people feel, including those with Dementia.We do this through inclusive community choirs and wellbeing sessions.

Consultation with stakeholders

The managing director also undertakes the duties of the Responsible Individual. Those duties include working and engaging with service users, clients and organisations on a regular basis. This is done through one to one or group activity engagements on client sites to deliver a range of well being and social activities.Feedback from organisations and individuals is used to shape our operations and future delivery priorities and bids.
