Company activities and impact

'The company's activities will provide benefit to women who have experienced or are experiencing Violence, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence. Our work will also benefit those involved in tackling the issues of VAWDASV through work, or personal relationships. The company will provide opportunities to empower those who have experienced VAWDASV, to have their voice heard and to become survivors with the knowledge and skills to thrive in life'.During the financial period 01/04/2023 - 31/10/2023 the company's activities have benefited the community in the following ways:Sign-posting survivors to relevant service providers for support.Attending public engagements representing survivors' voices.Raising public awareness about domestic abuse.Due to the remaining directors experiencing increased demands on their time from other work commitments, a difficult decision was taken to dissolve the CIC and close SEEdS Wales. It was decided that remaining funds and assets would be donated to appropriate organisations under the condition that the resources are used to continue our work in raising awareness of domestic abuse and supporting survivors. The website will be transferred to a new host and will remain available as a resource for signposting and maintained on a voluntary basis. The sum of £2,245.00 has been donated to the CIO Mercury Theatre Wales to help fund a new run of the play '35 Times', which has been developed from testaments of survivors of domestic violence and abuse and aims to raise awareness of its issues. The assets such as craft kits, sewing machines and stationary will be donated to the charity Valleys Daffodils in Caerphilly and Action in Caerau and Ely in Cardiff to include in their programme of activities with a specific emphasis on supporting survivors. The three directors will be on hand to advise on how best to support and signpost survivors who come into contact with their services.
