Directors' report period ended 31 March 2023

The directors present their report with the financial statements of the company for the period ended 31 March 2023

Principal activities of the company

Membership of the company requires that a person owns a dwelling in Bryants Bottom and is committed to maintaining the rural unspoilt nature of the village. Our membership reduced by one to 46 this year due to the departure of one resident whose replacement Activities continue to be focussed on the maintenance and conservation of the Village Green for use by the community of Bryants Bottom and to enhance the appearance of the Green Belt and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We applied for a grant of £420 from Hughenden Parish Council to cover the cost of maintaining the Village Green this year but it had not been received prior to the end of March. At the year-end our available cash funds stood at £2,223 a reduction of £313 from the previous year. The asset value of the land owned by the Trust is likely to remain unchanged at £17,624 as it now forms part of a Village Green and as such has no potential for development. We remain as enthusiastic as ever to continue as we are with the company being run by local householders on a voluntary and free basis.
