Throughout this year Power Through Sport’s activities have benefitted the community in the following ways:Power Through Community weekly sports sessions engaging with over 250 weekly members across Ball Hockey, Roller Hockey and Roller Skating Sessions bringing associated physical and mental health benefits.Community Outreach sessions engaged with over 2500 individuals across the North East delivered in partnership with community partners introducing a range of diverse physical activities into those communities most in-need.HAF Programme engaged with over 200 teenagers over the holidays, providing physical activity, enriching opportunities and valuable nutrition.Successful partnership with StreetGames, engaging with network of locally trusted organisations and now delivering training academy courses across the North East,5 coaches progressed from young volunteers into casual coaches with further 10 volunteers engaged supporting delivery in their own community.A live case study can be found at the following link:https://sportfin.io/story/19-how-power-through-sports-uses-roller-sports-to-form-inclusive-communities/?token=MTk:1qbidc:v0X2C4uO5xWCMCu2yI0SgwXOwEKla4rNtEbhWiWnHlA
The company’s stakeholders are all local residents in proximity to projects and all individuals that have been involved with activities throughout the year. Senior members of staff and directorship have been actively engaged and involved with aspects of delivery and regularly communicate with stakeholders face to face.Ongoing consultation with stakeholders via face-to-face meetings, social media platforms, working in partnership with local organisations via network events. The workforce encourage feedback both during sessions and post delivery ensuring continuous improvement on all aspects of delivery through constant reflection. Utilising the Sportfin online booking management system provides an additional channel of communication with all members. Findings from this years’ survey will help to guide further development within sessions ensuring sessions remain fun to members and encourage social interaction. With mental health being an emerging priority for many current members, ensuring staff are trained with mental health first aid, psychologically informed environments and also ACE’s in Doorstep Sport will be key priorities this coming year.
