The company runs 3 cultural programmes throughout the year. The company runs cultural programmes, including experimental theatre, outdoor family-friendly events and research, to develop a sense of community and belonging, especially for migrant and queer people. This year the company organised:- a research programme on the history and impact of tear gas- an immersive event about the lived experience of being exposed the tear gas - outdoor performances about migrants’ lived experiences - panel talk on air pollution. These events accumulate a total of 500 participants, providing psychotherapy services through art and cultural programmes. It has also created ten contract employment opportunities for the global majority migrant freelance cultural workers. Through these unique programmes organised by a 100% queer and migrant team, we provide safe and brave spaces for traumatic experiences to be processed and precious moments of community gathering, hence building the society’s capacity in imagination for a future with justice and freedom for all.
Consultation with our colleagues of migrant and queer backgrounds, the users of our services including our audience, festival and venue partners, and our advisors has been carried out in various modes. With our colleagues, we hold feedback sessions through and after the delivery of the programme to understand the individual experience of working with us. It helps us understand the impact of our work on their career, physical, mental, and social health. With our service users, we distribute surveys at all events and collect oral feedback through conversations. These data inform us on how our events are relevant to their lived experience and how they create a sense of community. We stay in close proximity with our festival and venue partners and our advisors to ensure a close and co-dependent relationship. It inspires healthier and better modes of collaboration through understanding each others’ experiences and needs.
