The company has continued to run its journal Carmen et Error, which publishes poetry and fiction from around the world, while saving spots to feature local northern writers. We have had two nothern writers guest edit the journal (Nathaniel Spain and Alex Mepham) allowing them to gain valuable experience in the editorial sphere, which is notoriously hard to break into. Our writers are submitted and nominated for awards including The Forward Prize, the Pushcart Prize and Best Microfictions. We have set up a poetry and speculative fiction press, and our first book, Unfurl, featured three underrepresented artists from the North and held a free launch event at Forum Books in Whitley bay. We have published another northern poet's debut as a micro chapbook, as well as a short horror story from an American writer, making sure that while we feature incredible art from across the globe, we make time and space for nothern writers, as is the remit of our CIC. We have also run a regular free writer's meet to discuss community issues, offer space and networking for writers across the north.
