The financial year saw so many theatres struggling to put on any form of physical theatre due to the effect of the COVID pandemic and lockdowns. Green Curtain Theatre resorted to preparing and presenting virtual events either over Zoom or filmed and then made available through our website and YouTube. The events were:a) Playwriting workshops were held using Zoomb) Online tutorial support was provided to new writersc) In person workshops were delivered to local writers groupsd) Liaison work took place with community groups in preparation for the Battersea Power Station project which actually was delivered in the following Financial Yeare) A video entitled 'Love Remembered' was rehearsed, filmed and produced and made available to the public via YouTube. Three monologues, delivered by one of our regular actors were inspired by three Irish songs: The ‘Galway Shawl’, ‘The Mountains of Mourne’ and ‘Red is the Rose’. We partnered with members of the London Irish Pensioners Choir for this project, who provided the soundtrack for some of the video.
Our stakeholders are the volunteers and staff of the Aisling Return to Ireland Project. We meet with them to discuss projects of a theatrical nature that would benefit them financially to allow them to improve their performance to their service users. Any profits generated by the company’s events are donated to Aisling. This year we made no profits and so couldn’t make a donation to Aisling.
No remuneration was received
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
