10. | POST BALANCE SHEET EVENTS |
Electrical contractor dispute |
On 5 September 2022 the company obtained judgement in the sum of £1,547.20 against the electrician who rewired the communal security lights to the relocated meter box in February 2019. His work was not to the required BS7671 standard and another electrician had to replace it. In April 2023 the company learnt that, sadly, the electrician had unexpectedly passed away in December 2022. The company have been advised that the Judgement Debt can be lodged against the electrician's estate once probate has been granted. The directors are seeking to establish the process that needs to be followed to achieve the latter. |
Compensatory damages |
The company's County Court claim for compensatory damages against one of the flat owners to cover the additional legal costs incurred solely as a direct consequence of that flat owners attempt, for no good reason, to frustrate the sale of the 1A High Moor Court land plot was dismissed on appeal as the Court ruled that the wording of the Deed of Release was not explicit enough in this regard. |
