COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

RAINBOW RURAL CENTRE (GT DUNMOW) C.I.C.

Company Number: 07162626 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 28 February 2023

Company activities and impact

RAINBOW RURAL CONTINUES TO SUPPORT ITS COMMUNITY OF VULNERABLE AND DISABLED CHILDREN AND ADULTS. RAINBOW RURAL ALSO CONTINUES TO SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITY TO HAVE SAFE AND MEANINGFUL ACCESS TO OUR FACILITIES IF THEY HAVE APPROPRIATE NEEDS OF ACCESS.WE CONTINUE TO DEVELOP NEW FUN AND LEARNING ACTIVITIES WITHIN AREAS OF THE CARE FARM, AND THIS INCLUDES 2 DESIGNATED AREAS, AND A CONTINUATION OF SUPPORT AFTER COVID 19. WE HAVE FOUND THAT SEPARATION OF LARGE AREAS, ALONG WITH PODDING CLIENT AREAS HAS BEEN A BENEFIT BEYOND COVID 19. WE HAVE OUR DEDICATED ‘GROUPS’ AREA, WHICH ORIGINALLY WAS ONLY USED BY OUR LOCAL SPECIAL NEEDS SCHOOL TWICE A WEEK. UNFORTUNATELY, THEY HAVE WITHDRAWN THEIR ATTENDANCE DUE TO THEIR OWN LACK OF GOVERNMENT FUNDING. THEY, LIKE OURSELVES, BELIEVE THIS IS A TEMPORARY SITUATION, AND THEY PLAN TO RETURN. WE HAVE HAD OTHER REQUESTS TO ATTEND BY OTHER SCHOOLS, BUT ONCE AGAIN THEY ARE STRUGGLING FOR APPROPRIATE FUNDING ALTHOUGH RAINBOW RURAL COSTINGS REMAIN THE SAME.RAINBOW RURAL COULD NOT AFFORD TO LEAVE SUCH A LOVELY AND PRACTICAL AREA UNUSED, SO WE HAVE CREATED MORE ACCESS TO OTHER PARTS OF THE COMMUNITY.RAINBOW RURAL HAS ALSO BEEN SEEKING TO CREATE MORE ACCESS FOR LESS VULNERABLE ADULTS, AND SO STARTED A NEW GROUP ATTENDING ON ORIGINAL CLOSED DAY. THIS HAS PROVED VERY HELPFUL TO OUR NEW CLIENTS AS WELL AS OUR INCOME.RAINBOW RURAL ALSO CONTINUES TO SUPPORT ‘WORK’ EXPERIENCE PLACES FROM THE COMMUNITY, AND IN PARTICULARLY WRITTLE AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY. THIS IS ANOTHER AREA WHICH WE ARE LOOKING TO EXPAND INTO OUR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, BY BEING ABLE TO SUPPORT TRAINING TO YOUTH SERVICES.RAINBOW RURAL ALSO HAS SETTLED TO A FEW MEANINGFUL FUNDING EVENTS A YEAR, AND THIS WILL MEAN A ‘BETTER ATTENDED’ EVENTS, AS WELL AS OFFERING BUCKET WALKS THROUGH THE YEAR.

Consultation with stakeholders

RAINBOW RURAL STAKEHOLDERS ARE ITS COMMUNITY. THIS COMMUNITY IS ESSEX, AND PARTS OF HERTSFORDSHIRE.WE SUPPORT SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL SCHOOL AND COLLEGES, COMMUNITY ACCESS FOR ADULTS WITH LEARNING AND AUTISM AND/OR DISABLILITIES.WE SUPPORT OTHER SMALLER CHARITIES NEEDS FOR ACCESS TO OUR CARE FARM.WE ALSO SUPPORT NEEDS FOR SCHOOL HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES, AND MENTAL HEALTH ACCESS TO THE CARE FARM WITH MANY VOLUNTEERS ATTENDING IN DIFFERENT ROLES.WE SURVEY ALL THAT ATTEND FOR FEED BACK. WE ALSO ENCOURAGE A BI-MONTHLY NEWSLETTER TO THOSE WHO SUPPORT VIA BUSINESSES AND NOT REGULAR ATTENDEES.
