Invisible Cities has continued supporting its beneficiaries - guides and trainees who have experienced homelessness in the financial year by:- continue offering training sessions in person or online on confidence building, digital skills, customer service, public speaking, etc- continue offering life-long training on life skill including Gambling support, mental health wellbeing, budgeting etc.- offering weekly deliveries of food parcels, activity packs and wellbeing items- offering vouchers and cash vouchers for beneficiaries to cope with cost of living crisis- providing everyone with a laptop or tablet and phone so everyone could stay digitally connected through the COVID-19 period. Training has been provided to use the tools to communicate. When appropriate, data bundles have also been provided. - supporting people to access stable, long-term employment and education opportunities- when appropriate, supporting people start their own businessWhile it was possible to deliver tours (virtually and in person) we have:- broken down the stigma that exists around homelessness by showcasing that when given a chance people have a lot to offer and can deliver a professional, high quality product- produced content on our cities focusing on underrepresented groups such as Black History in our cities or women representation
Beneficiaries (guides and trainees) have been consulted on what type of support would be the most needed/required. It has been decided that provision of groceries was the easiest/most beneficial.Guides and trainees have been an integral of the process of designing and producing new products at Invisible Cities (merchandise and content).
