For this financial year we have delivered over 200 trauma-informed yoga classes to vulnerable individuals in the bristol community. This includes asylum seekers, refugees, those who have drug dependency and those who find themselves homeless. This has included over 500 students. We have also conducted a foundation course for a small group of students who suffer with drug dependency and took then through a 5-week course for them to learn how to manage their stress better and use yoga and breathing techniques for relaxation. Over this year we also delivered two trauma-informed yoga teacher training courses which were fully booked and well recieved.
We have a board that includes a diverse range of people who sign off on our business activities. The board met 3 times during this period and guided what we needed to action. We liaised with our primary grant funders the Quartet Foundation and other organisations who work with the vulnerable people to be able to access and run the classes. We also consulted with the students and conducted an impact report to find otu how our classes were recieved.
These directors have their own personal businesses and provided these services for the project on an arms length basis Leonie Harvey Rolfe Director BYRC (no money for any director activities this is done voluntary)-Self-employed contractor yoga teacher, operations for running the grant classes, delivery the trauma-informed yoga training Total = £10116Megan CowlesDirector BYRC (no money for any director activities this is done voluntary)-Self-employed contractor yoga teacher, help with operations for managing the website, delivery the trauma-informed yoga trainingTotal = £3995Stephen LightbownNon-Executive Director BYRC (no money for any director activities this is done voluntary)-Self-employed contractor yoga teacher Total = £150Aliyah MughalNon-Executive Director BYRC (no money for any director activities this is done voluntary)-Self-employed contractor yoga teacher -Self-employed contractor help with operations for running the grant Total = £525
