In this financial year HCCM relaunched Bedford Radio in the Spring of 2022, as well as led a community based bid for the SSDAB multiplex for Bedford (which we did not win), and applied for a Community Digital Licence (C-DSP) which we were successful with.We recruited more volunteers and trained them in radio and broadcasting giving them skills and opportunities to be involved in the Community Radio station for Bedford. We also ran a successful 11 day short term FM licence to cover the Bedford River Festival and Bedford Fringe festival, promoting both events and encouraging people to go along, as well as providing coverage of the events, interviewing local councillors, the local mayor and others in attendance at the river festival, and comedians, artists, and those involved in the drama productions of the fringe festival.Post short term FM licence we continued to recruit and train more volunteers and move towards launching on DAB in 2023/2024.Towards the end of the year we also organised the Bedford Business Expo to showcase and support local businesses, we had 50 stalls and over 300 people in attendance.
We have continued to consult with our audience on a regular basis, our volunteers are also all drawn from our audience and play an active role in the management and direction of Bedford Radio (the primary activity of HCCM).
No remuneration was received
