Year Ending: 28 February 2023

Company activities and impact

The Men’s Domain CIC’s (TMD) activities during this financial year have provided young and adult men with the support, empowerment and motivation to break free from the negative stereotypes. Its activities have created a nurturing environment in which young and adult men have gained knowledge, learnt new skills, developed, healed and grown in order to enhance their personal, emotional and social well-being. The organisation’s activities have benefited the community in the following ways:Through the Be Wise to Finance workshop the young men were able to gain invaluable insight into debt management, saving and useful financial tips to maintaining a healthy financial position. The Men’s Social Night allowed for increased social interaction, the formation of healthy positive social networks and assisted with helping to reduce isolation. Volunteers who participated in helping to support the activities allowed them to give back to the community. Many volunteers provided feedback to us about their experience which reflected that they also benefited from their role as it allowed them to meet and interact with otherNetworking relationships were established with other local organisations within the community which facilitated with signposting TMD and helped to foster greater community cohesion. More volunteer tutors from the community joined the team, which enabled them to give back to their community and to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people. They also benefited from training opportunities which come with the role. Through the support of TMD’s mentoring programme, a number of young and adult men have grown in confidence, and have been able to make positive life changing decisions in developing themselves (such as going back to school, taking steps to opening their own business, signing up for additional counselling support.) The mentoring programme has also helped a number of former youth offenders to developing positive attitudes, changed mindsets, which have enabled them to making positive choices and decisions

Consultation with stakeholders

TMD’s stakeholders are made up of residents, organisations, groups and young people in the London Borough of Enfield, Hackney, Highbury and Islington. We carried out a community feedback to gage the views on the quality of our provision and this has helped us with further identifying areas for further development. Outside of feedback surveys there has been no consultation. TMD continues to develop excellent partnership working with local organisations that work with young people and men.
