Tinkerbrook Support Services CIC (TBSS CIC) delivers a diverse range of specialist outdoortherapeutic activities to individuals with additional health and/or support needs in PennineLancashire.TBSS CIC actively works in partnership with individuals , parents and carers , local authorities, specialist education providers and private health and social care providers to providemeaningful activities to promote individuals physical and mental wellbeing .Using a person centred approach individuals who attend the service are able to have accessto a variety of activities whilst staff ensure their safety and wellbeing is at the forefront of theirtime at TinkerbrookMembers of the local community community are able to access the service via self referral,GP’s ,via their primary care provider ,social services or health referral.Some of the benefits of Attending TBSS CIC :Individual attending : Promotes positive physical and mental wellbeing Developing existing skills Learning new skills and new experiences Making new friends Better daily living routing Confidence to challenge others about wants and needs Leaning about Differing perspectives Learning about others Promoting natural supports in the environment Social and emotional support available throughout the time at TinkerbrookSafe working environment Transparence of service delivery Inclusivity to all Promoting choice and opportunity Support staff available at all times on site Healthy living Healthy eating ( through growing a variety of vegetables ) Therapeutic relaxation time Team work Developing Communication and interaction skills Gaining a better understanding of Promoting individuals wants and needs Stepping stone to other educational / life skills providers Community contributionPrimary care provider:Respite careOwn time to relax and carry out other tasks Promotes mental and physical wellbeing Source of signpost to other services and support Knowing individual is in a safe and supportive environment Access to meaningful services Gets him / her out of the house and in the fresh air Development of his / hers skills at home (transferring skills learnt at Tinkerbrook) Seeing a change in individuals behaviours for the positive Small provider of day time support services
Consultation with directors :The Directors are regularly updated on the service delivery via phone , messages and in person appointments.Consultation with users of the service:Individuals who access the service are continually consulted in teams ( at dinner breaks /brew breaks ) and individually in a formal review .Tinkerbrook Support Service CIC undertakes a formal review with all individuals , parents ,carers and external organisations . Individuals were asked what they want from the service(activities ect) and what they would like in the future.To ensure individuals physical and mental wellbeing is at the forefront of any changes madeand safeguarding their emotional wellbeing is a priority TBSS CIC listened to their needs . .This was ensured a smooth transition , change was minimal at service delivery ,existingstaff were retained to ensure familiarity and most importantly ensure individuals accessing theservice felt comfortable and supported.This work continues as the service grows in numbersand partners.Other examples of consultation :- Items to be grown onsite- Development of new buildings- Painting and decorating- Products to make- Spending of any profits- Health and SafetyConsultation with commissioned contracts :TBSS CIC work in partnership with Lancashire County Council as a provider of Day timeSupport service to vulnerable adults with health / and or disabilities.Actively involved in the LCC Day Time Support Services webinars,recognised provider of day time support and are in regular contact with LCC regarding localand national government agendas on Health and Social Care service delivery.Consultation with Parents / Carers / Primary care providersAll parents , carers and primary care providers are consulted with informally on a regularbasis.TBSS CIC actively consulted with ALL via emails, letters and meetings regarding servicedelivery .Consultation with staffStaff are consulted on a daily basis informally regarding their views on service deliveryand the development of the service.
