Company activities and impact

Hope Street Hampshire is a wholly owned subsidiary of One Small Thing, a UK charity. Our vision is a justice system that can recognise, understand, and respond to trauma. Our mission is to redesign the justice system for women and their children. We facilitate trauma-informed and gender-responsive programmes for the justice and community sectors.Specifically, Hope Street pilots a new approach to working with justice involved women. From within a healing, trauma-informed, residential environment, women and children have access to a range of specialist support. During 2022/23 we launched our first residential accommodation fand during the period we were able to support 7 women.

Consultation with stakeholders

The physical design of Hope Street included stakeholder involvement along the journey to ensure the physical spaces built included trauma informed consideration. Stakeholders pertinently included women who have been involved in justice settings
