The company provides educational resources and support for schools. It started as a small company in Plymouth and now has expanded to schools across the UK and a few international schools. We support science leaders with networking sessions and workshops to upskill them in their role and make the science in their schools more hands on for the children. The companies activities have benefitted the community in the following ways:-Local schools have had regular training and continued professional development.-Teachers have collaborated together in the network sessions to share good practice. -We have provided hands on workshops to children in a variety of areas which include the use of Virtual Reality Headsets. -We have provided science holiday clubs for disadvantaged pupils to support families in the community. This included providing the children with free hot meals and exciting activities. -We have supported over 200 schools in this period and over 300 pupils in the holiday camps.-We have provided CPD to over 20 schools which is in excess of 90 teachers benefitting from professional development. -We have worked with local charities to provide food hampers to families in the holidays where they may be struggling financially. Our camps and science support remain to be benefitting the education and public communities.
The companies stakeholders are teachers and leaders in schools, children in school, parents of the children and families in disadvantages areas. The directors of the company have been in education for over 15 years and have a wealth of experience of supporting schools and families. We ask our parents to complete a Google Doc each holidays to ascertain what they would like from the camp and the best days/times to run. We also wanted to ascertain how many pupils would benefit from the free places and free meals on offer. This helped us to understand that in the area that we are operating there is much deprivation and families making use of the free school meal option and therefore would have enough children to make the club work. We ask the children on a daily basis what they think of the camps and the fact that we have many children who continually attend it is very popular. We also have children outside of the age brackets wanting to join or continue coming to the camp as they enjoy it so much. We have many emails from families thanking us for the work that we do and the care that we give the children when they are with us, especially children who may have additional needs. During the staff professional development sessions, candidates complete an evaluation form so that we can continually adapt to suit the needs of our stakeholders. CPD sessions are provided based on the feedback that is given. As a result of our outreach work and work with families the company was awarded the 'Royal Society Excellence in Education Award', which was a huge privilege.
The aggregate amounts of emolument's paid to or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services through Plymouth Science and external outreach was £24688.47.There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for directors loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
