Principal activities of the company

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITYAfter the impact of COVID 19 Passion Works CIC has been reimagining, reinvigorating and refining our approaches to challenge marginalisation and discrimination. We have enhanced our inclusive work culture by increasing our trauma awareness and disability inclusivity. We continuing to develop our trauma-informed, embodied, relational approach to challenging power and privilege. To this end individual directors have invested significant time and resources to professional development in Embodied Relational therapy, somatic trauma awareness training, and other CPD. We continue to draw upon the work of Bessel van der Kolk, and Gabor Mate for the link between trauma, ACEs and the body. Adopting approaches pioneered by Resmaa Menakem and Rae Johnson who introduced embodied anti-racism and social justice work. Bodywork and embodied practices have become an essential part of our practice, along with polyvagal theory grounding exercises. We also draw on action learning, coaching, Non-Violent Communication, authentic relating tools, and compassion practices. While we continue to work alongside marginalised communities, we also work directly with those with power and privilege to understand the work of allyship and create inclusive organisational cultures. We are excited about the embodied relational anti-racism project planned for 2023-2024.We have hosted no-fee compassion circle-based spaces open to individuals and unstructured community groups we have worked with over the last few years. In the coming year, we hope to use the learning to fund groups for people of colour / racially marginalised communities and for people with energy-limiting chronic conditions. We continue to offer formal and informal coaching and support, again this year, all of our work has been on a no-cost basis.

In-person events and workshops we have attended are beginning to increase providing opportunities to listen to and engage with people's lived experiences. The engagement continues to consolidate our commitment to compassion practice and inform our adoption of trauma-informed, embodied relational approaches.
