Company activities and impact

Fore Street For All is a community interest company which has been delivering a successful cultural programme with a community first approach to foster a safe and welcoming night-time economy along Fore Street in Upper Edmonton, London. Based at the Fore Street Living Room Library, we work with local businesses, creatives and residents to deliver monthly events that celebrate Upper Edmonton and its diverse cultures.Fore Street For All was formed through a collaboration between neighbourhood forum Residents of Edmonton Angel Community Together (REACT), local architects Fisher Cheng and Edmonton art organisation Artist Hive Studios, in response to the Mayor of London’s High Street For All Challenge, which sought innovative high street recovery strategies in the wake of Covid-19. Fore Street For All was selected as one of 15 exemplar projects to receive funding. We have had a whirlwind of a year, having delivered 12 invigorating events across Fore Street since the Living Room Library re-opened in July 2022 up until the end of June 2023. Whilst the library has been our hub, we have actively collaborated with other high street venues and hope to continue to broaden this reach. We initially began by delivering a ‘Thursday Lates’ programme of events on the first Thursday of every month, inspired by those run by other cultural venues and galleries such as Tate Modern and White chapel Gallery. The format has since evolved to become more flexible and experimental to ensure that our events are accessible to all residents, hosting some events on the weekend or across a whole week. Our programme is informed by the interests and needs of local residents. We are inclusive of all the cultures and ethnicities that make up our diverse high street, and we strive to build community cohesion through cultural activity that brings together an intergenerational audience from differentbackgrounds. As Upper Edmonton regenerates with the emergence of new housing developments, we aim to help shape the cultural landscape of the area through a grassroots collaborative approach that safeguards its rich heritage and diversity
