Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 30 June 2023 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

These accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

The directors have chosen not to file a copy of the company's profit and loss account.

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable.

    Other accounting policies

    Going concernThe directors have assessed the Balance Sheet and likely future cash flows at the date of approving these financial statements. The directors have a reasonable expectation that the Company has adequateresources to continue in operational existence and to meet its financial obligations as they fall due for at least 12 months from the date of signing these financial statements. Accordingly, they continue to adopt the going concern basis in preparing the financial statements.

Company activities and impact

World Learning Europe CIC is an international development social enterprise, founded by a US charity World Learning inc. World Learning Inc and World Learning Europe share the vision of “a just world, driven by engaged citizens and thriving communities”. World Learning Europe works in three key areas:-1) Promoting decent jobs and economic growth for all 2) Working for inclusive and equitable quality education 3) Enabling disenfranchised youth, girls and women to have a voiceOur projects have included- launching and publicising an open source inclusion toolkit – www.taapinclusion.org- Delivering capacity building to disabled peoples organisations in Egypt- Supporting STEAM centre in Algeria in partnership with Boeing and DOW Chemicals

Consultation with stakeholders

World Learning Inc is the ‘legal owner’ of World Learning Europe. The Executive Director of WLE has regular meetings with the programming and business development teams in World Learning.
