Youth In Sport CIC is a grassroot community-based sports and physical activity project. Projects delivered benefit those in the community that may not have access to such provision due to social of economical barriers. All our programmes focus on the health, wellbeing and personal development of the participants, their families and the wider community. We provide positive sports activities and engagement to help children, families and young people develop skills and reach their potential. Young people continue to be at the core of what we do and our focus at Youth in Sport is to continue to develop them by using sports as a means for engagement to build self-confidence, develop skills and giving them the opportunity to live their best life through a range of high quality sporting activities and giving them the support, advice and guidance to progress and overcome any challenges. We provide a bridge between young people and the community to create a safe space and environment of community cohesion through inclusion and support services. Throughout the year we have been working across housing estates and communities in London, supporting young people's health and well-being, promoting skills, building communities and tackling youth crime and anti-social behaviour. Uniquely we offered a community development approach, which saw local young people forming the backbone of our community development sessions. These included , Sports Coaching Programmes, Trips and Events, Volunteering Opportunities, Targeted support and mentoring for particularly 'at-risk' young people. Young people accessed free organised multi-sport activities during weekly term-time community sessions, half term holiday and summer holiday activities across London. A number of young people attending our programmes have also started to volunteer to gain experience at other sessions as a direct result. We delivered community fun days for residents living in the local area to also build community cohesion. Young people were able to take part in trips and educational events for free.
Youth In Sport CIC stakeholders include its employees, customers/ participants (parents, children), funders, partners and management committee. Our management committee meet twice a month. We collate feedback from our stakeholders through questionnaires and consultations at the end of each project to then structure our delivery to ensure we meet the needs of our customers/participants, funders and partners and also create an effective working environment for our employees. Our organisation website also allows us to receive feedback from our stakeholders at any given time. Meetings and feedback allow us to discuss new ideas and also reflect on previous projects that have been delivered.
