Self Care Scotland was awarded £4500 from Awards for All. This funding enabled us to provide 10 online courses to unpaid carers with Renfrewshire. Each course was offered to 10 carers who currently accessed services from their local Carers Centre(Renfrewshire Carers Centre). Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all courses were delivered via zoom. Each course was not only providing the knowledge of self-care of the skin but also provided top end products and the practical session of how to use them. Each participant was provided with a skincare kit bag with all the necessary equipment to carry out a full skin care facial. Productsprovided – Dermatological Skincare – meant each carer had a 30-day supply that they could use after the course.Dermalogica trained therapist were commissioned to deliver the course and paid for each session delivered and provided with equipment, products, admin support to deliver.SCS worked collaboratively with Renfrewshire Carers Centre to identify and carry out a consultation with each individual to ensure that the products provided suited their need and desire for improved skin care.
