COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

AXIAL-CROCUS C.I.C.

Company Number: 09048695 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 May 2023

Company activities and impact

During the Financial year just ended we have continued to pursue the activities we set the CIC up to deliver, extending our delivery to include wellbeing and mental health support as well as the sports we offer which during this year has been expanded to include Basketball and a cycling group to support Fathers this added to the range of participant groups most of which are in the inactive group as defined by Sport England and our work has been in the more deprived areas of Croydon. We have continued to work with the local LDD groups to engage their members in regular exercise by delivering regular sessions. Our Partnership with Simply kids continues to flourish and has allowed us to increase the scope and range of the sessions we are able to offer and allowed us to enter into a partnership with Croydon Council to deliver sports learning sessions to the virtual School. We anticipate that in the coming year we will be able with the benefit of this partnership to increase considerably the sessions we are able to offer to the community. Through all of these activities we have engaged with young people and with one of our partner organisations we have provided life skill courses to a number of young people. We believe that sport is a good way to engage young people and this engagement and the opportunities we are offering benefit the community by showing young people who would not get the opportunity, due to financial, family situation or other circumstance, to take part in regular exercise to enjoy the benefit that this activity can bring to their lifestyle and wellbeing. During this Financial period we have been able to obtain funds, to continue to provide a fit and fed programme during the School Holidays which has enabled us to deliver sport, nutritious food and education to over 120 children including sessions for those with SEN needs who otherwise would not have been economically able to participate in these activities and so enabling them to return to School in the new term with their mental and physical wellbeing in a better place to make the most of the opportunities that are offered to them at School.
