Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 30 April 2023 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

These accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

The directors have chosen not to file a copy of the company's profit and loss account.

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible fixed assets are stated at cost or valuation less depreciation. Depreciation is charge at straight line split over 3 years for computer and office equipment.

Company activities and impact

The company runs the Hungarian playgroup and Sunday school in Edinburgh for children and families of Hungarian heritage who would like to preserve their national identity and being part of a welcoming community. The work carried out by the company is focusing on children from birth up to approx. ten years of age. The organisation offers monthly Sunday meetings for families who are keen to ensure that their children develop an understanding and appreciation for the Hungarian culture and language. Sessions are offered to families with children aged between 0-12 approximately. Events organised follow the Hungarian cultural calendar and families are invited to these.

Consultation with stakeholders

The company’s stakeholders are the director, the secretary, the volunteers, and the families who benefit from this service. The team has consistently been looking for feedback from parents and children. Stakeholders often give verbal feedback on what they would like but the company sometimes also receives written feedback.
