Muslims in Public Policy (MIPP) is an independent, non-profit organisation with a core vision to create an inclusive public policy environment that is well represented by and addresses the needs of Muslim, ethnically diverse and lower socioeconomic communities in the UK. Overall the period between November 2022 and November 2023 was an active and productive year for our organisation and the network we have built. We successfully undertook a range of activities and events majority focused around our core services of outreach and mentoring for professionals already in the sector as well as the future generation of public policy leaders. A breakdown of our activity can be seen below and on our social media channels.Networking (1)Launch Event - We had an incredibly successful launch event in March which saw 80 plus professionals come together, network and learn about the organisation. There was also a panel of senior leaders who spoke about their professional experiences.Learning and Development (5)We held five “Lunch and Learn” virtual sessions where a different speaker was invited to speak about their journeys into the organisations they work for and take questions from the audience. Overall had over 100 attendees benefit from these sessions.Outreach (6)University panels - We held four panels at different universities across London. Overall he has over 100 attendees benefit from these session.Pathways into Public Policy event - We held an in person and virtual event for the future generations of public policy leaders discussing the different routes an individual can take into the sector. In total both events had roughly 100 attendees. Also our social media following has increased significantly with roughly 1,300 followers across our platforms. In conclusion we are delighted with the productivity and benefit MIPP has brought throughout this period.
