Stony Radio has actively supported a number of charities, including the Milton Keynes based Ukraine Appeal Charity, (broadcasting a weekly 2-hour programme of music and information to the Ukrainian diaspora in the Milton Keynes area), Unity MK (raising funds for a local homeless shelter) and a number of our presenters supported a local event by DJing to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. We attended our local Deanshanger Pride event and handed out leaflets to raise awareness of Stony Radio and to encourage people to get involved. The Directors attended a Stony Stratford Rotary Club meeting where we delivered a presentation to the Committee and guests, detailing the station’s objectives and discussing how we can collaborate with the Rotary Club and promote their charity work, including this year’s Guinness World Record Food Bank Challenge. We also regularly promote and interview local bands and have collaborated with Milton Keynes College to support their Music and Drama department by interviewing students and playing their music on the station.
Stony Radio has two directors and 30 Presenters. We consult with our Presenters via a WhatsApp Group and regular group activities. We actively encourage suggestions for improvements to the station’s technology and content and we report back to our stakeholders on listener figures and involve them in any significant changes.
