COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

VISTA WELLBEING C.I.C.

Company Number: 10905064 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 July 2023

Company activities and impact

Again, our year started with hope that the impact of Covid would be fully behind us. Yes, the Leisure sector has opened up and there is a sense of returning to “normal”. However, we have not found this to be wholly true for our client base. There have been challenges around confidence to return to activity and sadly some clients have not returned at all. We are continuing with a consolidation approach and delivered our classes at Roundswell Community Centre. This continues to be an ideal venue for our sessions providing a warm bright and airy space for our clients. A major milestone for Vista Wellbeing (December 2022) was the successful awarding of a contract to help set up and deliver a Falls Prevention Programme across North Devon and Torridge. This programme was funded by the NHS and managed by One Northern Devon. We are grateful for this commission which recognises of our specialist knowledge and skills. Our education provision (through the brand “Vista Education”) started to gain traction with nine learners registering for courses during this financial year. These learners were predominantly studying Gym Instructor and Personal Trainer qualifications. Ten percent of revenue from education goes towards supporting Vista Wellbeing’s core activities. During this year we welcomed several organisations to our Wellbeing Hub to offer guidance and advice to our service users. These included: One Small Step and Devon & Somerset Fire Community Engagement who provided advice on managing risk factors for health and fire safety at home. Health professionals have been welcomed to observe our work, resulting in some excellent feedback. We had a Quality Assurance visit from Later Life Training, and the Vista instructor team achieved the highest marks for fidelity to the evidence-based FaME programme. Our team collaborated with a multi-disciplinary team across Devon, to produce and deliver training programmes to health and social care professionals on the benefits of physical activity for patients living with serious mental illness. Our Director, Anita, engaged with a wide range of community professionals within the One Northern Devon Physical Activity and Healthy Weight Forum. Anita also delivered talks free of charge to community groups on the benefits of physical activity for people with cancer, spinal stenosis and diabetes, also delivered a presentation on the relationship between diabetes and heart disease, Our team of volunteers attended community events, including Wellbeing Fayre, Green Lanes and Help 4 All day in the Pannier Market.
