This is Dementia CIC is a social enterprise raising awareness of dementia throughsustainable product sales and providing informative content. The premise of This is DementiaCIC is to promote education, inclusion initiatives and a sense of awareness through its sale ofethically sourced and sustainable t-shirts and home lifestyle products, as well as through itssocial media presence and director profile. This is Dementia has launched this year a monthlynewsletter interviewing professionals within the dementia environment as well as peoplepersonally affected by dementia. The two components This is Dementia measure to provide aview of the company activities impact are its net proceeds to its partners, and the awarenessraised through wider activities.Raising awareness measured through:- Social media influence and growth - 3,037 followers at time of report- Messages and support channels- Customers and fans that have experienced or have been impacted by a lovedone with Dementia, Elizabeth is continuing to be available to console andprovide support.- Website creation and store front- Operational since April 20th 2020.- Products designed, developed and sold to customers- 6 different t-shirt designs, ranging across 6 different sizes- 2 drinking mug designs- 2 tote bag designs- 1 card design- Some variations of the above are sold out- Press- Elizabeth has been interviewed for articles in various pieces of press such asthe South China Morning Post and Sustainably Infuenced.- Newsletter and contact list development- 10% average open rate- Approximately 319 readers per send- Waste prevention- T-shirt sales- Over 400kg of fabric prevented from going to landfill and repurposed throught-shirt sales from launch- Home lifestyle products- Over 50 mugs saved from going to landfill and repurposed through sales fromlaunch- Partnerships created and supported- This is Dementia CIC has curated one partnership with associated contract,Dementia UK. This has been capped at one as This is Dementia CIC wants toensure all of its net proceeds go towards supporting Dementia UK’s AdmiralNurses. Elizabeth also offers additional guidance and support to Dementia UKthrough advisory panel participation and consulting on various initiatives fromthe charityDonation amount within operation year 3:- c.£1,000 in net proceeds have gone to Dementia UK, to support their admiral nursesfrom Jan 2023 to date.
This is Dementia CIC’s stakeholders range between Partners, Customers and Suppliers.Within each of these stakeholders groups, This is Dementia CIC has requested ongoingconsultation in order to streamline and improve operations to the function of the business.Detailed below is stakeholder group specifics, across the consultation types and follow-upactions.Partners (those who receive proceeds from This is Dementia CIC) - Dementia UKThis is Dementia’s partnership with Dementia UK is very strong. This is Dementia continues todonate all net proceeds to the charity, as well as consult on various initiatives the charity areworking on in partnership with us such as the Sun Still Shines pin badge which has been verysuccessful. Elizabeth has also agreed to be an advisor on their lived experience panel whichwill commence September 2023.Customers (those who purchase products from the store) - Shopify Store customersWe continue to engage our customers through our social media channels, newsletters andwebsite. We run promotions which help attract customers to the site and feel connected to thebrand. We are providing detailed and digestible information regarding dementia and building astrong network of customers.Suppliers (those who support with general logistics, product development and productdelivery) - no such consultation action was required or given to suppliers.
