Young People Mental Health Support Project: KLIMAX Family Hub CIC (KLIIMAX) has beencarrying out after school activities such as arts, drama, music, book clubs for children ages 8to 17 years over the years. It has also delivered 8 workshops/seminars and recreationalactivities for families and young people. The focus of these programmes was to tackleviolence against women, mental health in young people, and to support resilient learning fordisadvantaged and disaffected young people in our communities to minimise the adverseeffects of Covid 19 and mental health now and in the later stages of life. KLIMAX with thefunding received from Essex Emergency Fund provided help towards food/utilities vouchersand supplied daily essentials and sanitary products support to BAME families experiencinghardship and individuals from vulnerable households; at risk of poverty due to rising costs ofliving and those who lost their jobs due to the pandemic.During the financial year 2021 these activities generated the following benefits for thecommunity and its surroundings:Encouraged children to gain more time in exploring their talents in different ways as moreguidance has been provided by our team members.Enabled parents to concentrate on other areas such as work while their children are beingtaken care of during these activities.As KLIMAX provides for children from all ethnicity, able as well as disable children, its built inthe culture of respect for one another and also help built children’s confidence as they aremixed and created a culture of respect.KLIMAX Family Hub CIC also help built a well meaningful relationships amongst parents andthe community.
KLIMAX stakeholders are the residents, parents, children, Southend-on-Sea City Council,Mayor Councillor Kevin RobinsonThe parents and trustees of KLIMAX live in this community and has developed the businessmodel on the experience of talking to people within the community and understand theirconcerns.We regularly consult our stakeholders through meetings or sending out newsletterswhenever there are important decisions to be taken that not only affect the business but alsothe community as a whole.We help more people to reach their potential, by supporting them at the earliest possible stageThis has helped us to build a more reputable profile as we valued our stakeholders’ input andallows them to create ideas that we take onboard.
