Company activities and impact

Match-funded by Paths for All and 5 Scottish Local Authorities.- Play Sufficiency Assessment work with Play Scotland in East Ayrshire.- Child-friendly planning consultancy with Play Scotland, in relation to NPF4.- Facilitation of youth-led codesign of new public spaces in North Edinburgh. Commissioned by the City of Edinburgh Council.- Facilitated the third round of our Participatory Action Research series#ScotYouthandCOVID, as supported by the Children and Young People’s Commissioner Scotland. These projects have benefitted the company’s community by enabling us to take forward our mission of enabling children and young people to make the changes in their communities that they would like to see. This includes at both local level, such as in Aberdeen, and at national level, such as with the Children’s Charter for School age childcare. In total, approximately 500 children and young people have been involved directly in the above activities. Meanwhile, approximately 400 adult stakeholders have been involved in related discussions and received training as part of activities.

Consultation with stakeholders

Our core stakeholders are children and young people across Scotland. The majority of our projects in this financial year have been coproduced with children and young people as active and equal partners, they have thus informed all levels of project delivery. Alongside project delivery, the key principles developed by children across Scotland in each of the #ScotYouthandCOVID projects, and the Children’s Charter for School age Childcare have informed how we work with children and young people in all future projects. The outputs of the Teenagers and Public Space research have also driven much of our advocacy activities, and strengthened APiC’s focus on making on-the-ground change with and for teenagers who have fewer and fewer opportunities in Scotland. We also consider our partners to be core stakeholders, and work collaboratively with them to design projects and services at all stages.

Directors' remuneration

All salaries detailed in the accounts have been paid to directors who are employees of the company (£74,395). The employed directors were Dr Jenny Wood, Dr Jamie Hamilton, and Ms Anna Gaffney-Courage. These are salaries related to operational delivery, and not for company governance.
