Principal activities of the company

Asylum Seekers and Refugee Support Sanctuary C.I.C. is a company incorporated in the United Kingdom with Company House. It has its registered office and principal place of business at [28 Stainforth Avenue, Blackpool, FY2 0ER]. The principal activities of the company are other business support service activities not elsewhere classified [code 82990].

Political and charitable donations

During the year, the Company made NO charitable donations.

Additional information

During the financial year, the company got a grant funding from Migrant Helpline to set up a Community Hub in Blackpool. In December 2023, the company managed to secure a venue for the drop-in service. The drop-in service started on January 2024. This continue to support those around the Lancashire area.The company is part of the National Data Bank Network, and in November 2023, we receive 80 sim cards and 80 devices to distribute to those that are isolated and no means to communicate. We continue to look at the needs and to distribute this devices accordingly.

Company activities and impact

The company continued in this year to deliver practical support and emotional support to asylum seekers and refugees. Due to funding our concentration was mainly in those accommodated in Liverpool and Blackpool.The support we have have allowed to accomplish the following the different communities:By restoring a sense of belonging to people who have fled from war and persecution.By helping those in the community not to feel isolated by befriending them with othersBy supporting them with their mental health to become active community membersBy linking them with Solicitors to better understand their immigration cases and all the Asylum policiesBy building relationships and social connectednessBy providing an opportunity to apply academic learning for volunteers, students to real life events.By improving lifelong communications, interpersonal and critical thinking skills.By helping and encouraging them to talk to each other about things that matter to themBy creating an environment and making it easy for members to tell their stories, share their experiences and grow their passions.By supporting them with food, clothes and those basic items that are needed in life.We where very lucky to be granted some funding from Migrant Help to set up a Community Hub in Blackpool. This hub is now open and up in running. We also managed to register with the National Data Bank and we received free sim card and devices to distribute to those that are isolated and not connected to be able to communicate with friends and families.

Consultation with stakeholders

The organisation stakeholders are our service users, community members, volunteers and those that have interest in the CIC. We have received positive feedback on the work and the support that we give to the community.The founder of the organisation has lived experience as someone seeking asylum in the UK and as a qualified social worker and has and continue to engage with stakeholders on different platforms, attend multiagency meeting to improve and deliver services to the community.We continue to receive positive feedback on the work we do from those that we have supported and those we continue to support.
