COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

PHOENIX HEROES CIC

Company Number: 11479548 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 July 2023

Company activities and impact

This report reflects our achievements, milestones reached, and the difficulties encountered during our fifth year. During this financial year we received restricted grants from the Essex Community Foundation, Angling Trust, Sport England, and the Tendring Community Fund in support of our Hawk Farm projects and our community engagement days. Our fundraising activities, donations, and support from the Veterans Raffle continues to be a great help to us and is growing year on year. Our Veteran Carp Angling Community (VCAC) coupled with our new community building initiatives with our football and golf are going from strength to strength. To date under our Tackle 4 Heroes project, we have received fishing tackle donations from the public and businesses around the UK with a retail value of £180k. This allowed us to gift free fishing tackle to many of our beneficiaries and their families to allow them to join us on our fishing events. In total we held 35 events including family days and brought hundreds of people together throughout 2022 – 2023. In the early stage of 2023, we received confirmation that we were successful in securing land to build our veteran base camp consisting of a hub, office, garden, and allotment area. This remains our focus for 2024 and we are receiving offers of support from many businesses around the UK. To date, as a community we have delivered over 47,000 voluntary hours across our team structure and helped hundreds of people across the spectrum of our support services, some of which have saved lives.A big thank you to everyone for their support to us. We have some huge announcements to make in 2024 and this is a result of those who are helping us.
