PART 1 - GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPANY’S ACTIVITIES AND IMPACTIn the space provided below, please insert a general account of the company’s activities in the financial year to which the report relates, including a description of how they have benefited the community. The New Forest Business Partnership (NFBP) is the definitive business forum for the New Forest, representing all local businesses and working in partnership with our local authorities, to provide benefit to the New Forest business community, including all businesses registered within the New Forest.NFBP’s activities during the financial year relate to our aim, which is to grow the New Forest economy, and our objectives: to represent and be the voice of the local business community; to support and connect local businesses and facilitate their growth; and to partner with local authorities and other stakeholders to grow the local economy.During 2023, NFBP responded to the needs of the local business community by providing business support programmes, including online and in person training, events and awards for local businesses, which opened up new opportunities to develop supply chains and access best practice, and by keeping local businesses updated on grant funding, education, local issues and other opportunities.NFBP benefitted the community of New Forest businesses by increasingly bringing together local businesses with each other and with our local authorities post-pandemic in a spirit of mutual support and cooperation and by enabling communication and sharing of issues and concerns with each other, not least through the weekly online New Forest Business Support Hour and the resumption of regular in person events, including our annual Brilliance in Business Awards ceremony in December 2023 to celebrate the achievements of the local business community. NFBP’s communications, including weekly email and social media channels, have also benefitted the local business community by sharing news and issues, as well as promoting local businesses to each other within the local economy.
Consultation with NFBP’s stakeholders is fundamental to the purpose of the CIC as a business partnership, supporting local businesses and growing the local economy. The CIC’s stakeholders are our members (local businesses) and partner organisations (including local authorities and sector support groups).NFBP engages with our stakeholders through weekly business support events and activities as well as our twice-weekly email communications and through our social media channels. We engage with our partner organisations on a regular basis through meetings and also our bi-monthly Advisory Group meetings, which bring together business members and our local authorities and partner organisations to discuss issues of economic concern and how we can grow the local economy.NFBP’s Directors met monthly in 2023 and took note of advice and feedback from our members after each event, in response to email and social media communications and on our weekly business support hour, which informs our business support activities and planning – as well as to improve the quality of the business support services we offer.
Two Directors that served during the year (2022- two) provided discounted services from their companies to NFBP, relating to awards and event management, marketing, and communications totalling £12,198 (2022 £13,526). There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for any director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
