Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 31 March 2023 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

Company activities and impact

The company has set up its first trading arm, Cracked Bean Roastery with the purpose of using the business to provide volunteering and training opportunities for local people experiencing unemployment.Company Director, Samantha Dobson has volunteered for the company to establish this trading arm.Cracked Bean Roastery trading website was launched April 2022 The company also started trading at a local food and drink market in Sunderland in October 2022, which provided volunteering opportunities for 2 people. This gave them valuable work experience in customer service skills, and they gained knowledge of the coffee products they were selling, as well as learning how to take electronic and cash payments for products sold.Company Director Samantha Dobson completed professional Barista training in December 2022, and obtained funding for Barista equipment. The Company delivered Introduction to Barista Training course in February 2023 to 10 learners. This course was free at point of access.The company also gained funding to provide part -time employment to 1 staff member in January 2023.

Consultation with stakeholders

The Company consulted with local organisations whether volunteering and training opportunities with Cracked Bean Roastery would be of interest to local people experiencing unemployment.These organisations were:Grace House, SunderlandDiego's Joint (part of MediaSavvy CIC), SunderlandMy Sister's Kitchen CICPort Independent CafeOur consultation enabled us to identify that there was a demand for the skills training and experience that Cracked Bean Roastery could provide, especially the Introduction to Barista Training Course.

Directors' remuneration

The total amount paid or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £5308.There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed.
