1 Accounting policies
Basis of preparation
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance with FRS 102, The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Service charges
The company was dormant throughout the current and previous year. The company is responsible for the management of Sutherland Grange and collects service charges from lessees in order to fund expenditure incurred in the management of the property. These service charge funds are held in trust for the lessees as required by the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987. Transactions relating to the management of the property are reported separately to lessees and are excluded from the company's financial statements.
Tangible fixed assets
The company owns the freehold of the bulk of the land around Sutherland Grange (HM Land Registry BK335250). The freehold was purchased by the company in November 1995 and 999 year leases were sold to the 5 shareholders at this time. This freehold was revalued by the directors on 31st December 2005 at £18000.
