RAW Arts CIC is an arts organisation based in Carlisle, our aims are to make the arts accessible to everyone, by providing events, exhibitions and opportunities for marginalised artists.During the financial year of 2022-2023 RAW Arts benefited the local community in the following ways:- We partnered with local arts organisations Free Radical Arts, Pride in North Cumbria and Cumbria Youth Alliance to deliver 'I ME US', an exhibition exploring gender identity, opening on 16th April 2022. We supported 15 young Trans, Non-Binary and Gender Non-Conforming artists during this exhibition, and gave them a platform to share their stories.- Over 100 people attended the opening night of this exhibition, including the Mayor of Carlisle. By engaging with the art shown in the exhibition, the local community had the opportunity to learn about Trans & Non-Binary people's stories. This helped to overcome previously held misconceptions about this marginalised group, with an aim to create a safer and more open-minded community for everyone.
