Since the formation of BMS Wellbeing CIC on 7th April 2023, we have focused on putting policies and procedures in place within the organisation, as well as the designing and producing of resources for the delivery of the wellbeing workshops. We also realise and recognise the importance of partnership building within the community in working together to make a difference to the community. Hence, we are in the process of developing close links various organisations within Greater Manchester. We are also in the process of putting together an application to apply for funding with the National lottery to fund the delivery of wellbeing workshops within Trafford and East Manchester. As an organisation, we are focused on positively influencing, empowering, and improving the wellbeing of individuals within the Trafford area and East Manchester area.We do this through several initiatives:Wellbeing workshops: Aim to reduce the impact of health inequalities as well as empowering individuals to make better lifestyle choices leading to a better quality of life. We deliver a range of 8 workshops, around topics such as healthy eating, Sleep, physical exercise and 5 ways to wellbeing. We are looking at securing lottery funding to deliver wellbeing workshops from various venues in Trafford and East Manchester.Peer support groups for Men: Our peer support groups provide a safe, supportive space, in reducing feelings of isolation, stigma and promote the importance of mental health awareness and support between men. We are in the process of developing links with a men’s peer support organisation. Digital literacy groups: Develop the knowledge and understanding of individuals, giving them the digital skills to make the most of the online world. for example, online shopping, banking, social media, and email. We are looking into securing funding in a joint funding bid with a health and wellbeing centre in East Manchester.
