Principal activities of the company

The company’s activities will provide and be carried out the benefit:Musicians, singers/songwriters and creatives based in London, the Midlands, Coventry and the South East.Children in selected schools in West London selected via FTCC’s working in partnership with the Lyric Hammersmith For the Culture Collective is a UK-based group of professional singers/songwriters, musicians and creatives. FTCC was created in January 2022 after a performance involving some of its members in the closing ceremony of the inaugural For the Culture: Celebrations of Blackness at the Lyric Theatre Hammersmith. We worked with and supported independent artists, Musicians, singers/songwriters and creatives based in London, the Midlands and the South East.Our activities have provided opportunities for the gathering of and career development for the independent artists, and musicians we work with.

Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 31 March 2023 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

These accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

Company activities and impact

We worked with and supported independent artists, Musicians, singers/songwriters and creatives based in London, the Midlands and the South East.Examples of events we took part in as a Collective from March 2022-2023, included:In March 2022, we performed with Ruth Theodore, an independent artist Singing with artist Shan Ako at her headline show April 2022 In May 2022 we performed as a part of the People’s Postcode Lottery Gala Dinner with an Independent artist called Tee In July 2022, we performed at Fierce Festival at the Birmingham Symphony Hall as a part of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games with In August 2022, we performed with the artist Tawiah at the Southbank Centre as a part of the In the Black Fantastic Festival. Our activities have provided opportunities for the gathering of and career development for the independent artists, and musicians we work with.

Consultation with stakeholders

The board of FTCC consists of 4 members including Jabez Walsh and are consulted on the development of projects or plans. Plans are agreed in minuted meetings throughout the year.
