Company activities and impact

The company’s purpose is to develop opportunities for young people to gain practical experience in music with a view to providing employment opportunities and routes into the wider industry. We aim to do this by helping them to work together to write, rehearse and record music, as well as to perform to audiences and to promote their work.In this financial year we were able to support young people with new music creation, both in terms of writing, recording and performance. We supported the project with marketing activities which provided an important platform for the young people involved, raising their aspirations, and boosting morale. We were also able to organise a cultural exchange with young people in Germany, helping to broaden the horizons of this years cohort. The most direct beneficiaries of our work are the young people who have participated in the music projects, who have displayed increased confidence and self-esteem. Participants have also improved transferable skills such as written and verbal communication, and numeracy. Alongside this, participants developed creative skills such as song writing, musicianship, and self-expression.

Consultation with stakeholders

Predominantly our stakeholders are the young people who participate in our projects. Throughout the year we held regular, weekly meetings with these participants enabling them to input into how the projects evolved, and also involving them in the ongoing evaluation of our work, ensuring that it is as beneficial as possible.
