Company activities and impact

The building of Little Oaks Playschool to facilitate the running of Badingham Playschool continued throughout the year. By 30th June the main building structure was complete. The ground works, landscaping and fitting out are still to be completed.Families, practitioners and supporters of playschool are looking forward to moving in during the Summer of 2023.

Consultation with stakeholders

The community of Dennington and surrounding area: News of the build progress has been published in the Dennington and local area newsletters. The staff, parents and users of Badingham Playschool: Playschool newsletters, staff meetings and committee meetings have included regular updates and discussions on the progress of the build and advised of activities such as fundraising and tree planting that they can get involved with.The Dennington Consolidated Charity: Email and word of mouth communication between the CIC directors from the DCC has been open and the community views shared. When possible action has been taken to ease the disruption of the build and to explain the importance of build features that caused concern amongst a few residence. For example the formation of an earth mound formed using the earth dug out for the building foundations. A presentation on the benefits of the mound to the environment and child development was given at an open evening.
