General description of company's activities and impact: We had funding from MK Community Foundation for £3,000 for 6 workshops called Olive Chats Menopause. Each workshop focused on a different set of symptoms. We marketed the workshops to local women within Milton Keynes and linked up with Bosom pals breast Cancer Charity, Age UK MK, MK:U part of Cranfield University, Ask Go To networking groups and class students that attend our weekly Pilates classes. We received funding of £425.17 from Fullers Clubs within Milton Keynes to run a 4 week community based weekly menopause group. Supporting women within the Fullers Slade community supported by the local social media Facebook group, residents and Council. We received a further £1489.00 from MK Council Finance to support 8 workshops on phone photo training for residents within the Lakes Estate and Fullers Slade areas. Helping residents to learn new tech skills and ways to use their phones. The participants learnt photo skills from thirds rules, composition, how to save and share photos, to use different filters, understand about contrast, saturation, vibrance, black point, live photos, portrait and video usage. The end results were to create a project with an album of photos from the area to capture the area from the community’s eyes. We have run a paid for workshop called Pilates Movement & Menopause to continue our workshop support to educate, share, empower and support women going through menopause and hormone changes.I run Pilates classes on a weekly basis starting in May 2023 with 1 class a week increasing to 2 classes and more recently to 3 classes. Supporting the local community with health and wellness. We have a mix of ages from 30 – 80 year olds helping post natal recovery strength, to injury recovery and helping older residents to improve strength, balance, flexibility, mobility and mental health.
We held meetings between the Directors to work through funding opportunities and ways to take Olive Collective CIC forward. With each workshop we obtained feedback in order to help improve each workshop going forward. We obtained excellent and very good 4 & 5 star reviews for our workshops and 5 star reviews from our Pilates classes.
