Company activities and impact

The Head and Neck Cancer Coalition is a group of 15 members comprising charities, support groups and healthcare associations who have come together to create one strong voice for all those affected by Head and Neck cancers in the UK. We are pooling our collective resources to raise awareness and create better understanding of all aspects of Head and Neck cancer. The members work together on focused objectives and projects within the areas of patient and caregiver support, awareness and education, research, policy, multidisciplinary team support and patient pathway improvements. The Coalition will take a collaborative, inclusive and multi-perspective approach to ensure the complexity of Head and Neck Cancers are addressed. A joined-up approach will allow us to have greater alignment on messaging, ensure all voices are heard and collaborate on key priorities to ensure we have greater collective impact. Together we will improve the patient and caregiver experience and outcomes. We will support all Head and Neck cancer stakeholders by working together on focused objectives and projects within the areas of patient and caregiver support, awareness and education, research, policy, multidisciplinary team support and patient pathway improvements.

Consultation with stakeholders

As noted above, the coalition exists as a way of bringing together representatives from 15-different organisations which represent head and neck cancer patients, their clinicians and the general public in the UK. Our main stakeholders are therefore the 15-organisations, and they meet together on a quarterly basis to share their work and to communicate their priorities to others. Those who attend the meetings are trustees and the senior staff of organisations and the coalition asks that each of member organisations provides visibility of our work to their boards and members. Activities during the year have included carrying out a detailed and in-depth consultation with our members on what our priorities should be, the order in which they should be approached and actions that the coalition can take in order to raise awareness of head and neck cancers.
