COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

ARIA ART AND MOVEMENT COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY

Company Number: 13678573 (England and Wales)

Year Ending: 31 October 2023

Company activities and impact

We primarily run aerial classes, photoshoots and art and movement workshops. We have seen that our activities have developed people’s confidence and professionalism, with some of our photographers and models beginning to be paid for their work and moving towards being semi-professional and professional. Running showcases from our creative work with aerialists has demonstrated that the skills we have offered has fed in well to their performances and creation.

Consultation with stakeholders

We held a community open evening for our stakeholders on Tue 16 May, from 5.30pm, where we discussed future directions and aspirations for photographers, creatives and aerialists.Photography suggestions - more sessions on editing and development which we have held this year. We offered a free space to an unwaged photographer. More studio nights for photographers to come together. We were not able to do studio nights but we do still hold regular monthly photoshoots were our community of photographers are welcome to come and take shots of our interesting and unique set ups.Creatives - we decided that we wished to develop our art strand by running more creative workshops. We put some of these on in 2023 but they were not well attended. Instead, we looked ahead to 2024 and our festival, where we would offer commissions.Aerialists - development and performance. As well as our face to face stakeholder meeting we regularly poll our audience as to what they most want to explore. Development in movement and performance regularly comes back. We ran some a contemporary dance taster with a professional dancer and this was really well attended. We also ran a low flow harness dance which encouraged people to connect movement from the floor to the air.
