Company activities and impact

The Why Event, which answer the question of why people stay in abusive relationships, through drama, dance, and spoken word and Key speakers. People who preform in the show are survivors of domestic abuse and share their whys, through the different art forms. The company has gone on to do a performance at The Midland Arts Centre and Fazeley Studios going on to collaborate with domestic Birmingham Crisis Centre, Coventry Haven who supported people who may have been impacted by the event. We had great feedback as it has helped people in the community to have a better understanding of why people stay, and some have gone onto to help others in these types of relationships either personally or through work they do. This event has definitely benefited the community and could be a great asset to agency that work closely with victims and survivors of abuse. We did receive funding from the National Community Lottery Fund that allowed us to put the two performances on for our community.

Consultation with stakeholders

The stakeholders/directors have met to discuss the business status and we have put into place a plan for 2025 for Outkast Productions CIC to become viable and start producing more shows for film and theatre. We will be applying for funding with national lottery to be able to take The Why Event into local spaces for a wider audience to benefit from the show.No change with stakeholders/directorsKira MclearyAndre HessonCharmaine Quailey
