Providing Resources (books/Training), For prisoners in the UK, their Families, and for Prison Staff. These Books and CDs with Audio on Mindfulness Training, are mailed to the Managing Chaplainsof the different Prisons and Youth Offending Units. This is for the use of Prisoners and Prison Staff. We are also in the process of contacting Prisoners’ Families Support Groups. There is a website (www.theroadcompass.co.uk), where Chaplains, Prison Staff, and Prisoners’ Families can access the resources. We offer a Free 8-week Mindfulness Course, for HMP Chaplains, Prison Staff, Probation Officers, and Prisoners’ Families. (this is co-sponsored with Ed Halliwell, Mindfulness Teacher) (Subject to availability). This course has been taken by a Chaplain, Prison Staff and Prisoners’ Relatives, and found to be very helpful. It has been my experience, that whatever the person’s belief or creed, learning mindfulness and compassion (to self/others) skills, has helped them, to better manage their stress, improve their physical and mental health and become more resilient.
No consultation with stakeholders
No remuneration was received
There are donations of books, and CDs of audio on mindfulness training, to HMPs and Prisoners’Families Support Groups.
