Haven of Hope provides a holiday for people generally, but not exclusively, over the age of 60, who attend churches in the East Anglia region, although occasionally come from further afield but have connections with people in this area. The holiday uses the facilities of Sizewell Hall Christian Conference Centre and enjoys the surrounding countryside and seaside. The holiday was able to build on last year’s return after Covid 19, and had 47 guests and a team of 13. Our theme day was all about a Victorian seaside and many of the guests dressed up with amazing costumes and had a good time at the fayre. We had a pony and trap, that gave rides to our guests down the long driveway of the hall. We also have our posh afternoon tea one afternoon and a banquet one evening and various crafts during the week. The holiday impacted our guests in many ways; providing company and fun for many who live alone and don’t have another holiday. It gives them an opportunity to try different things they would not otherwise be able to do.
We did carry out a full guest feedback this year. Everyone was very satisfied with all that was being provided. There were a few suggestions for other activities that we will be looking into the practicalities of, but no complaints.
No remuneration was received
No transfer of assets other than for full consideration
