Achievements A funding bid from the Gardening with Disabilities Trust was successful and enabled us to buy a battery powered trolley and a selection of adaptive hand tools, these have been most beneficial to the operations of harvesting flowers for adults with additional needs and moving items up the path to the van. In July 2023 Branch-out MK CIC partnered with Future Wolverton in opening a community pop up shop, with the idea of trialing the new premises for 6 weeks. This proved to be successful and so the decision was made to give up the rental on the workshop at York House and move all stock and fittings to the Shop on the Square, Wolverton. The premises are just a short distance from the allotments without the inconvenience of the stairs. We have therefore been able to offer retail experience as part of our enterprise to 2 service users who have limited mobility, we now have 5 service users regularly attending the shop, which is open over three days. The shop has provided a guaranteed outlet for our retail flower sales without having to sell through a third party and has proved beneficial in promoting our services. Online social media presence is good after the website underwent a complete review, with orders steady for gift bouquets and sympathy arrangements. We have decided to reduce the amount of wedding bookings and will only now be accepting requests which are referred through the Future Wolverton preferred supplies list. In October 2023 we were given a donation which part funded a new van, the donor wishing to remain anonymous. This has enabled us to replace our very high mileage and considerably unreliable vehicle with a much more modern van.Plans for Future Periods:The perennial beds need major attention; therefore, this has been identified as our priority for the autumn / winter season. All plants need to be lifted, divided and moved, with the space given over to new raised annual beds.Continue sowing and growing dried flowers as the trend is still strong.Promote eco-sympathy arrangements as our main floristry offer (instead of weddings).

The company has delivered Social & Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) sessions to adults who have learning differences &/or with a diagnosis of Autism. Through the sessions attended adults have benefitted from improvements in their emotional, physical, mental health & wellbeing, with both reported and observed improvements in areas such as self-confidence and self-esteem. Attendees have acquired a wide range of skills through a hands-on learning approach undertaking many seasonal horticultural tasks such as seed sowing, propagation and plant care, as well as woodwork and construction projects. Attendees have also had opportunities to assist in preparing flowers for sale and retail experience in the new pop-up shop that was set up by Future Wolverton in July 2023. Sales of cut flowers have steadily increased through the addition of the retail space, which is open three days per week and supports 5 adults with additional needs. Investments have been made into plant and retail stock to increase our offer of specialty cut flower and foliage products, as well as houseplants and botanically inspired gifts. Service user numbers have increased over the period and the website shop is still popular with customers ordering gift bouquets and sympathy arrangements for personal delivery in the local area.
