Bambuuu is a trauma informed support organisation dedicated to assisting women and girls who are experiencing or recovering from domestic abuse, with a particular focus on those who are Black or from marginalized communities. We provide culturally competent services that include one-on-one emotional and practical support, group sessions focused on well-being and recovery, and one-time grants to help with resettlement costs, essential goods, and development opportunities. Over this accounting period we have received funds to deliver and develop services and have done one off work shops around by and for services, cultural competency when supporting Black women also prison and refuge sessions directly to the women.As a newly established community interest company we have formed many relationships within the community and externally which has been of benefit to the women and girls we serve.
Bambuuu's commitment to stakeholder consultation. The organisation ensures that the women and girls they serve are regularly consulted through evaluation processes, support for generating ideas, and co-designing services. Bambuuu also engages with external stakeholders, such as sister organisations and similar services, to align their offerings with local and national strategies. We collaborate closely with funder's who monitor and evaluate their funded services, as well as influential organizations, to advocate for improved services for Black and marginalised women.
