Balance sheet statements

For the year ending 31 October 2023 the company was entitled to exemption under section 477 of the Companies Act 2006 relating to small companies.

The members have not required the company to obtain an audit in accordance with section 476 of the Companies Act 2006.

The directors acknowledge their responsibilities for complying with the requirements of the Act with respect to accounting records and the preparation of accounts.

These accounts have been prepared and delivered in accordance with the provisions applicable to companies subject to the small companies regime.

The directors have chosen not to file a copy of the company's profit and loss account.

  • 1. Accounting policies

    Basis of measurement and preparation

    These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the provisions of Section 1A (Small Entities) of Financial Reporting Standard 102

    Turnover policy

    Turnover is measured at the fair value of the consideration received or receivable, excluding discounts, rebates, value addedtax and other sales taxes. Turnover from the rendering of community based activities (Television programme productionactivities, Cultural education, performing arts and Artistic creation) and services is recognised by reference to the stage ofcompletion of the contract. The stage of completion of a contract is measured by comparing the costs incurred for workperformed to date to the total estimated contract costs.

    Tangible fixed assets depreciation policy

    Tangible assets are included at cost less depreciation and impairment. Depreciation has been provided at the following rates in order to write off the assets over their estimated useful lives:Plant & machinery 20%Computer equipment 20%

    Other accounting policies

    The principal accounting policies adopted in the preparation of the financial statements are set out below and have remainedunchanged from the previous year, and also have been consistently applied within the same accounts.

Company activities and impact

The company provides cultural education and performing arts in schools and local communities in London and greater London to enlighten the general public about African cultures and heritage.

Consultation with stakeholders

The Company stakeholders are the general public and schools especially people with African heritage. The directors have been involved in performing art for a number of years and always informally consults the stakeholders for ways to improve education of African heritage through performing Art.

Directors' remuneration

The aggregate amount of emoluments paid to or receivable by directors in respect of qualifying services was £10,000. There were no other transactions or arrangements in connection with the remuneration of directors, or compensation for director’s loss of office, which require to be disclosed
