Queer House Party ran mutiple of our own events and also were booked to perform at events ran by other organisations. The events that we ran were hybrid online and in person events and were in wheelchair accessible venues and all were between 90%-100% sold out. The venues we organised events at include The Garage in Highbury and Islington, The Yard Theatre, Dalston Superstore and Matchstick Piehouse. At these events we provide British Sign Language Interpretation, Audio Description and Closed Captions. All of these services were also available for the online element of our event. We booked a range of DJs, dancers, drag artists and cabaret performers. Queer House Party were booked to perform at a variety festivals including Boomtown Festival, Body Movements, Standon Calling and Latitude Festival. As well as a range of other events in other venues including Pride with See You at Mimis at Troxy, Southbank Centre and Homobloc at Warehouse Project. We performed for charities as well, helping raise awareness for their causes, such as The Outside Project, and Give a Gig Week. We operated during this time with our 3 directors, and 2 other permanent members of the team. These individuals were provided with freelance work at regular intervals throughout the year and were paid day rates for their organising of our in-house events. Throughout the year, many thousands of people attend our events, or saw us perform and we provided freelance job oppurtunities for a large number of artists.
We receive feedback in the form of social media engagement (during this time our instagram followers was between 20-30 thousand), or feedback on emails or in person. Much of this feedback is regarding our access services and how these can be improved and since then our online party has been out sourced to a bespoke organisation called Castrooms. We attained informal feedback from the external artists and collectives that we booked after the events that they performed at. This was usually centred around the workload and the safety for performers, events are often hard to manage with the unknown element of who will be in the audience, and we put measures to ensure our performers remained safe at our events.
