Company activities and impact

In this financial year to date the main company’s activities have been supporting families whose children are Neurodivergent (Autistic/ADHD/Dyslexic or were on the pathway to a diagnosis. We continue to raise awareness of PDA (profile of autism) across Leeds and Bradford through engaging with families in the local area. We supported families through bespoke and individualised support - assess, plan, do, review. The difference it made = families and children being listened to and understood, improving mental well-being of parent and child and signposted them to other services. This also included advocacy support to secure robust EHCP’s and education settings which can meet their child’s needs. Parent/carers were supported to complete letters and forms to access further support. Our book loan service continued, where parents and children have had access to valuable information texts to support their situation. A monthly face to face support group continues to be a vital source of support for isolated parents. Our project has benefited children and young people aged between 0-25 who are Neurodivergent with many having a PDA profile or are on the pathway to a diagnosis. It has also benefited their parents/carers. The project continued to be important as other support systems had overwhelming wait times and children were left struggling. Saturated services now signpost and refer to us. We reflected continually on the project’s success by asking for feedback from families and children and made changes where necessary. In September a Not-for-Profit Alternative Provision was established for Neurodivergent young people who were unable to access mainstream educational provision.
