Running Hardknox Boxing CIC has allowed us to have a significant impact on the local community. Hardknox Boxing CIC's activities have benefited the community during the financial year by:1. Health and Well-beingProviding a space for individuals to improve their physical fitness, helping to reduce health issues such as obesity, cardiovascular diseases, and diabetes.Improving Mental Health: Boxing is known to be a great stress-reliever. By offering regular training sessions, we have helped members of the community manage stress, anxiety, and depression.2. Youth EngagementYouth Programs: We offer specialised programs for young people, which have kept them engaged in positive activities, reducing the likelihood of their involvement in crime and antisocial behaviour.Mentorship: Hardknox Boxing CIC serves as a place where young people can find mentors in coaches and older members, providing guidance and support.3. Social CohesionCommunity Events: We host events such as boxing matches, exhibitions, and social gatherings which foster a sense of community and belonging among members.Inclusive Environment: We promote an inclusive environment, in which we have brought together people from diverse backgrounds, helping to break down social barriers.4. Economic ImpactVoluntary roles: Hardknox Boxing CIC creates opportunities for trainers, administrative staff, and maintenance personnel, contributing to the personal development of local community membersLocal Business Support: By sourcing our venues and facilities locally we have supported other businesses in the area.5. Skill DevelopmentTraining Programs: Offering structured training programs has helped members develop discipline, self-control, and perseverance.Career Pathways: For those interested in pursuing boxing coaching, Hardknox Boxing CIC has provided several work experience positions to local secondary school children in which they develop their skills and potentially advance their careers.6. Crime ReductionSafe Haven: We provide a safe space for at-risk youth, which supports a reduction in local crime rates.Positive Role Models: Boxers and coaches serve as role models, demonstrating the benefits of hard work, dedication, and staying out of trouble.7. AccessibilityAffordable Membership: As a CIC, Hardknox Boxing CIC has offered more affordable membership options compared to commercial gyms, making fitness accessible to a broader section of the community.Subsidised Programs: Offering subsidised or free programs for disadvantaged groups ensures that everyone has the opportunity to benefit from our services.8. Community PartnershipsCollaboration with Schools and Organisations: Partnering with local schools, youth clubs, and other organisations has extended our reach and impact, bringing boxing to more people in the community.Health Campaigns: Collaborating on health and wellness campaigns has amplified the benefits of physical activity within the community as well as raising awareness for rising mental health issues amongst men.9.
