Unfortunately the Director taking a lead on the Starseed Parenting project had family challenges during 2021-2023 when her youngest son was diagnosed with leukaemia. As a result capacity for work has still been reduced.Starseed ParentingDirector Charlie Mitchell continued to work on emotional support for parents with children who experience the world differently, including those with disabilities, diagnosis, sensory and behavioural differences. She wrote a second short book called 3 Steps Home, exploring how people can connect with themselves, their inner child and the universe.During 2022/2023, 100 parents accessed the online resources via the website and a further 150 parents accessed support through a Facebook Group. (250 parents x £50 = £12,500)Charlie has worked with 3 people on a one to one basis. (3 people x 12 sessions x £80 = £2,880)Total contribution towards community learning: £15,380Stroud ImaginesStroud Imagines launched face to face monthly events at The Long Table in March 2023 and ran until October 2023. The sessions were attended by between 25 and 100 people covering topics such as reimagining education, transport, community, neurodiversity and aging. The events were set up and run entirely by volunteers. It would have cost £1,000 to deliver each session. Total contribution towards community learning: £8,000Conclusion100% of our activity this year has directly contributed to the work of the CVS and community based learning in line with our declared purpose. Overall contribution to the community learning in 2022/2023: £23,380Total contribution to community learning since 2010: £256,986
We have explored the needs of three separate communities around Stroud using Facebook-Stroud’s Neurodiverse Universe (500 people)-Stroud Imagines (400 people)-Starseed Parenting (250 people)The information provided by people in these communities have informed the development of Starseed Parenting and Stroud Imagines.
