Pinball Pirates is a children's hair cutting and hair care service, aiming to help children access hair cuts and hair care and help them have confidence in themselves.- Over 200 haircuts were given free across Sussex, to children with SEND and children with families that could not afford to pay.- Hair care kits were given out to these families and schools in the local area.- SEND social story books were created and given out to SEND schools in the local area.- Hair care leaflets were created and given out to local schools in the area.
Stakeholders are local hairdressers and barbershops who allow us to use their shops, hairdressers and barbers who provide support for us, local businesses who contribute to the CIC, schools and families who use the service.- We consulted families and schools to make sure we are providing a service that is useful for them and if we can do more. - We consulted local businesses to make sure we shining a light on their support and if they had ideas on expansion for the future.- We consulted barbers and hairdressers to see if they could do more in their local community to help families. This led to the creation of leaflets and books for promoting hair health and bags for families to take away with them.
