COMMUNITY INTEREST ANNUAL REPORT

ELECTRIC VEHICLE ASSOCIATION NORTHERN IRELAND CIC

Company Number: NI677982 (Northern Ireland)

Year Ending: 31 March 2024

Company activities and impact

In the last year our Association has expanded its membership and reach. We have engaged with multiple stakeholders, including several Executive Departments in our devolved government and we continue to hold a seat on Northern Ireland's EV Task Force. Our Directors and Committee met each month and our regular email newsletters kept our members informed as we work on their behalf. Our work benefits the NI EV community. Our lobbying for better infrastructure has resulted in DC rapid charger numbers increasing 6-fold in the last 2 years and also seen multiple new Charge Point Operators enter the NI market. The Minister for the Economy has recently announce an upcoming change for grid connection costs here, potentially removing one of the main barriers to the rollout of public charging infrastructure, something else we have been pushing for. Although slow, we believe we are also making progress around cross-pavement charging solutions due to our multi-yearengagement with DfI on this matter. The media regularly approach us for our views as well as the data around the transition here and we take part in round table events aimed at helping to educate those considering a move to an electric vehicle.

Consultation with stakeholders

We continue with our ambitious policy to engage with a broad spectrum of stakeholders and in the last financial year we attended more than 140 meetings. This has allowed us to keep exploring the unique challenges in NI as well as the opportunities surrounding the electrification of transport here.Stakeholders include our own members, Dfl, DfE, the DNO, Charge Point Operators, CBI, Car Dealerships, Motability, Energy Suppliers, the Utility regulator, OZEV, Councils, Politicians and many others. We use the information gathered from these meetings along with our annual EV drivers survey to feed back to policy makers, charge point operators and otherrelevant parties. This ensures the views of our members are well represented.
