Company activities and impact

During 2023/24 financial year we have continued to grow our reputation in the field of dance and health, delivering weekly dance sessions to older patients in 3 Hospitals in Bristol and Weston-Super-Mare. Our weekly classes for Misfits theatre continue and our Dance for Parkinson’s class at Coniston Community Centre is very well attended. We received a runner up award at the Patient Experience National Network Awards for our Dance for Dementia project. We continue to deliver a dance element in the Enhanced Care Training for medical staff at Southmead Hospital. We delivered an outdoor performance for the Weston Super Culture Arts and Health weekender. We now have some well embedded projects that continue to receive a lot of positive recognition and we are now looking to further develop the hospital area of our work as there is increased demand for the project. In January 2024 our Dance for Dementia project and award was celebrated via a public photography exhibition in the Atrium at Southmead Hospital.During 23/24, we have continued to raise the company profile, received a national award, received further funding to support the continuation of our hospital-based work, engaged many new participants in dance - we are now engaging around 140+ participants across all our sessions every week.

Consultation with stakeholders

We receive a lot of informal positive feedback from audiences (includes patients, visitors and staff) who experience our work.Workshop/class participants are asked to give regular informal feedback in comments books and where appropriate to fill in evaluation forms.
