Company activities and impact

Clean Planet Foundation CIC (“the Foundation”) operates to provide solutions for environmental issues, specifically addressing challenges posed by climate change and plastic waste. While there is no single solution to these global problems, the Foundation focuses on education and actions aimed at the sustainable use of plastics and the reduction of carbon emissions. Please see below the summary of achievements over the period:- In 2023, the Foundation achieved impactful results, delivering 11 community projects.- Our educational initiatives reached 284 school children, aged 4-17, teaching them about environmental issues related to waste plastic and proper disposal methods.- Projects spanned primarily the UK, but also Uganda, the Czech Republic, and Thailand.- We contributed to the removal of over 3.5 tonnes of plastic waste from UK shores.- Beyond plastics, our projects embraced biodiversity through the HAPSIE beehive, a documentary on the importance of insects, and the Playbox wildflower garden.- Additionally, we proudly sponsored the H2 racing car project, offering valuable lessons on the power of hydrogen and engineering to aspiring young minds. One primary method of effecting change is through awareness and educational activities for the wider public. Through the Foundation’s activities, support is provided to charities and businesses that are also change-makers and may need the Foundation’s outputs and expertise to support the macro cause. This financial period ending 31 December 2023 marks the Foundation’s second year operating as a CIC. Whilst there were many planned initiatives intended for launch initially, the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic meant that many of the Foundation’s activities were paused to ensure greater stability and allow for long-term future planning. As a result, we have seen a significant increase in activity after the initial period ending in 31 October 2022.Notably, in 2023, the Foundation was honoured to receive the Lloyds Bank Sustainable Business of the Year award, presented by Chancellor Jeremy Hunt. The Foundation’s latest activities are continually published at the following URL: https://www.cleanplanet.com/foundation

Consultation with stakeholders

Our stakeholders engage in regular and periodic meetings, actively participating in the planning and delivery of our objectives. New projects are discussed, and we involve additional specialists when necessary to advise on initiatives that enhance our community support efforts. We work closely with local charities and businesses, whose input is invaluable in our planning process to ensure we are meeting the Foundation’s objectives.
